📋 Description

• Take charge of the customer engagement skills capability for Biogen’s North America commercial customer-facing teams.

• Spearhead both short-term and long-term learning strategies for North America customer-facing teams.

• Establish key selling and customer engagement competencies based on role and tenure, including assessment methods.

• Create scalable development pathways from onboarding to advanced proficiency across various roles and therapeutic areas.

• Design and implement learning programs in live, virtual, and blended formats.

• Address consultative selling, business acumen, customer engagement, and value-based dialogue.

• Develop and uphold a consistent customer engagement framework across different brands and therapeutic areas.

• Integrate customer engagement capabilities into brand and disease-state learning programs.

• Work in partnership with Field Leadership Development and Account Management to create an integrated capability-building and coaching ecosystem.

• Provide guidance to Commercial, Patient Services, and field leaders by recommending solutions aligned with business outcomes.

• Assess learning effectiveness and correlate capability development with performance results.

• Analyze and adopt emerging learning technologies, including AI-driven coaching and practice tools.

• Oversee external partners, vendors, budgets, and program governance.

• Collaborate with field teams to pinpoint skill gaps and suggest targeted interventions.

• Ensure that learning initiatives adhere to Biogen values, policies, PRC requirements, and relevant SOPs.

• Travel domestically up to 30% for field engagements, workshops, regional and national meetings, and visits to headquarters.


⛳️ Requirements

• At least 8 years of professional experience in the pharmaceutical or biotech sector.

• A minimum of 5 years in field sales.

• 3 years in Commercial Learning, capability building, or a related field.

• Proven track record in establishing a program, capability, or function from inception within a new or evolving organization.

• Preferred experience in developing selling or customer engagement capabilities across multiple brands, business units, or therapeutic areas.

• Experience with product launches and/or in Neuroscience, Rare Disease, or specialty care brands is preferred.

• Familiarity with reimbursement, key account, or buy-and-bill environments is a plus.

• In-depth expertise in pharmaceutical/biotech commercialization, customer engagement, adult learning principles, and learning program design and facilitation.

• Strong field sales background with established credibility among field teams and leaders.

• Capability to create scalable, cross-portfolio solutions.

• Proficiency in influencing and leading across functions and organizational levels without direct authority.

• Executive presence and credibility with senior commercial leaders.

• Ability to work independently and achieve results in ambiguous situations.

• Experience in measuring learning effectiveness and utilizing data to guide priorities and investments.

• Excellent communication, collaboration, and vendor management abilities in complex matrix organizations.

• Demonstrated integrity and dedication to compliance with applicable regulations and policies.

• BS/BA degree is required.

• Certification in a recognized selling, coaching, or customer engagement methodology is preferred.

• Ability to adhere to Biogen values, policies, PRC requirements, and relevant SOPs.
