Medical Science Liaison, Specialty Care

This is a fully remote position, open to applicants in Canada.

📋 Description

• Cultivate and strengthen relationships with both established and emerging external experts.

• Enhance AbbVie's scientific reputation with external specialists.

• Address inquiries by supplying essential scientific and medical information to external experts and internal teams.

• Build and maintain scientific expertise for the reliable sharing of information with external experts and healthcare providers.

• Engage in and monitor investigator-initiated studies, clinical trials, and medical projects within the relevant therapeutic domain.

• Offer scientific support and uphold connections with external experts and academic institutions.

• Present credible scientific findings to healthcare professionals, whether individually or in group settings.

• Assist in the selection of qualified healthcare professionals for collaborative research and support for lectures/meetings.

• Ensure scientific and educational integrity in collaborative activities such as advisory boards, congresses, and symposiums.

• Participate in pertinent scientific meetings and conferences, producing summaries of significant data presented.

• Coordinate scientific and medical engagement initiatives across stakeholders within accounts.

• Create interaction plans that align with the Scientific Interaction Plan to meet medical objectives.

• Incorporate stakeholder insights into the engagement strategies of in-field teams.

• Implement data-driven strategies and business decisions to support the goals of in-field teams.

• Collaborate and communicate with other in-field team members to enhance business objectives.

⛳️ Requirements

• An advanced degree is required; Doctorate, PharmD, or MD.

• Relevant business experience with a strong understanding of the biotech/pharmaceutical sector.

• Previous experience as a Medical Science Liaison (MSL) is preferred.

• Background in Eye Care / Ophthalmology is considered advantageous.

• Past experience in a customer-facing role within the healthcare industry.

• Experience in presenting and/or interpreting scientific or clinical research publications.

• Familiarity with scientific methods utilized in clinical research and current legislative/regulatory guidelines.

• Strong interest in developing and maintaining expert knowledge in the assigned therapeutic area/product and medical research overall.

• Proficient in Microsoft Office Suite (Outlook, PowerPoint, Excel, Word, etc.).

• Comfortable with technology and various tools/systems for daily tasks.

• Willingness to travel approximately 50% of the time.

• Valid driver's license and passport are required.

• Advanced command of English / Fluency in English is a mandatory requirement.
