📋 Description

• Operate as a highly skilled, field-based scientific authority in ophthalmology, with a focus on retinal diseases.

• Act as the key medical contact within the designated geographic area.

• Sustain clinical and scientific proficiency in the standards of care for neovascular age-related macular degeneration (wet AMD).

• Facilitate compliant scientific peer exchanges concerning wet AMD and the client's product.

• Interact with healthcare professionals, key opinion leaders (KOLs), professional societies, organizations, health systems, and advocacy groups.

• Execute pre-launch KOL profiling and assessments of leading accounts/institutions.

• Formulate and monitor strategic KOL engagement initiatives.

• Provide clinical and scientific information to support health systems, population health leaders, and medical quality professionals.

• Deliver clinical and scientific presentations to healthcare providers, health systems, medical groups, and community/advocacy organizations.

• Cultivate relationships with key decision-makers and aid in KOL development.

• Offer insights on market trends and clinical intelligence.

• Collaborate with Medical Affairs leadership, clients, thought leaders, implementation teams, commercial partners, R&D teams, and internal stakeholders.

• Assist in medical research, clinical trials, investigator-initiated study proposals, and clinical program requests.

• Identify, attend, and report on educational events, symposia, scientific and clinical meetings, CME events, medical conferences, and congresses.

• Oversee time and travel expense budgets within assigned territories.

• Address and document unsolicited inquiries for clinical and scientific information.

• Represent the client at medical meetings through coverage of the Medical Affairs Scientific Booth.

• Provide medical support, clinical insights, and training for internal teams.

• Comply with corporate standard operating procedures (SOPs) and legal/regulatory requirements.

• Manage the designated territory and contribute to organizational objectives beyond the geographic area.


⛳️ Requirements

• An advanced degree (e.g., OD, PharmD, PhD, MD, MSN, DNP, or NP/PA) is mandatory.

• MSL: At least 2 years of prior MSL experience, including a minimum of 1 year in ophthalmology with familiarity in retinal disorders.

• Sr. MSL: Minimum of 5 years in the pharmaceutical industry and 3 years in rare disease or ophthalmology.

• Previous product launch experience is preferred.

• Exceptional scientific, business, and clinical acumen required.

• Capability to interpret and present scientific data to engage KOLs.

• Required working knowledge of standards of care for prostate cancer.

• Previous experience in sharing scientific information with payer systems is highly desirable.

• Strongly desired working knowledge of ophthalmology screening and wellness initiatives.

• Ability to present complex scientific, value, and evidence data to payers and/or formulary committees is essential.

• Expected working knowledge of institutions and clinics within the specified geographies.

• Excellent skills in written and oral presentations.

• Willingness to travel frequently (70%) with overnight stays.

• Compliance with corporate SOPs and relevant legal and regulatory standards is necessary.

• Capability to work independently and manage time efficiently.

• Strong attention to detail.

• Proficient analytical, problem-solving, decision-making, verbal, written communication, public speaking, and networking skills required.
