Medical Science Liaison – Senior Medical Science Liaison

This is a fully remote position, open to applicants in Kansas, +4 more states.

📋 Description

• Identify, develop, and nurture scientific relationships with KOLs, investigators, academic medical centers, community physicians, pharmacists, nurses, and treatment centers.

• Provide balanced, accurate, and compliant scientific exchanges regarding disease states, treatment landscapes, Kyverna’s CAR-T programs, and emerging clinical data.

• Act as a scientific liaison to investigators for clinical research collaborations and discussions concerning investigator-initiated research.

• Create and implement geography-specific Medical Affairs and KOL engagement strategies.

• Take ownership of assigned territory through stakeholder mapping, prioritization, and proactive planning.

• Collaborate with field medical colleagues to synchronize external engagement efforts.

• Support Kyverna-sponsored clinical trials by identifying potential trial sites, engaging with investigators, and fostering trial awareness and scientific dialogue.

• Contribute to efforts regarding trial feasibility and enrollment.

• Gather and relay medical insights pertaining to autoimmune diseases and cell therapy to internal stakeholders.

• Convert external scientific viewpoints into actionable insights for medical, clinical, and development-related decisions.

• Work in partnership with Clinical Development, Clinical Operations, Regulatory Affairs, Commercial, Market Access, and Patient Services teams.

• Provide scientific support during congresses, advisory boards, investigator meetings, and medical education forums.

• Respond compliantly to unsolicited medical information inquiries.

• Stay updated on therapeutic areas, treatment guidelines, clinical research processes, and cell therapy operations.

• Complete CRM documentation, administrative tasks, required training, and pharmacovigilance responsibilities.

• Conduct activities in accordance with applicable laws, regulations, and company policies.

⛳️ Requirements

• An advanced scientific or clinical degree is required (MD, PharmD, PhD, DNP, NP, PA, or equivalent).

• For Medical Science Liaison (MSL) roles, a Doctorate degree OR a Master’s degree with 3 years of Medical Affairs experience is required.

• Senior Medical Science Liaison (Senior MSL) positions require a Doctorate degree with 2 years of Medical Affairs experience OR a Master’s degree with 6 years of Medical Affairs experience.

• Prior experience in cell therapy, CAR-T, immunology, rheumatology, nephrology, neurology, hematology/oncology, or rare diseases is strongly preferred.

• A strong understanding of clinical trial design, clinical development, and medical affairs functions is essential.

• Experience engaging with academic medical centers, specialty treatment centers, and/or infusion centers is preferred.

• Ability to interpret and convey complex scientific and clinical information to varied audiences is required.

• Excellent presentation, communication, and interpersonal skills are necessary.

• Proven ability to establish strong external relationships and collaborate effectively across cross-functional teams.

• Comfortable working in a fast-paced, high-growth biotechnology environment.

• Willingness and capability to travel extensively within the assigned geography.

• Experience supporting pre-commercial or launch-stage biotechnology organizations is a plus.

• Knowledge of the treatment landscapes for autoimmune diseases and emerging cell therapy methods is beneficial.

• Experience in supporting investigator-sponsored research and clinical trial recruitment initiatives is ideal.

• Familiarity with operational concepts related to cell therapy, including chain of identity, chain of custody, and treatment center workflows is advantageous.
