Medical Science Liaison, Senior

📋 Description

• Identify, establish, and nurture scientific relationships with KOLs, investigators, academic medical centers, community physicians, pharmacists, nurses, and treatment facilities.

• Deliver fair-balanced, precise, and compliant scientific exchanges regarding disease states, treatment landscapes, Kyverna’s CAR-T programs, and emerging clinical data.

• Act as a scientific liaison for investigators interested in clinical research collaborations and discussions concerning investigator-initiated research.

• Develop and implement geography-specific Medical Affairs and KOL engagement strategies.

• Take ownership of the assigned territory through stakeholder mapping, prioritization, and proactive planning.

• Collaborate with field medical colleagues to share insights and coordinate external engagement efforts.

• Support Kyverna-sponsored clinical trials by identifying trial sites, engaging investigators, raising trial awareness, and facilitating scientific dialogues.

• Contribute to efforts around trial feasibility and enrollment.

• Capture and relay medical insights on autoimmune diseases and cell therapies to internal stakeholders.

• Convert external scientific perspectives into actionable insights for medical, clinical, and development decision-making.

• Work in partnership with Clinical Development, Clinical Operations, Regulatory Affairs, Commercial, Market Access, and Patient Services teams while adhering to non-promotional boundaries.

• Provide scientific support at congresses, advisory boards, investigator meetings, and medical education forums.

• Address unsolicited medical information requests.

• Stay informed about therapeutic areas, treatment guidelines, clinical research processes, and cell therapy operations.

• Complete CRM documentation, administrative tasks, training, and pharmacovigilance responsibilities.

• Conduct all activities in accordance with applicable laws, regulations, and company policies.


⛳️ Requirements

• An advanced scientific or clinical degree is required (MD, PharmD, PhD, DNP, NP, PA, or equivalent).

• MSL position requires a Doctorate degree OR a Master’s degree coupled with 3 years of Medical Affairs experience.

• Senior MSL position necessitates a Doctorate degree and 2 years of Medical Affairs experience OR a Master’s degree with 6 years of Medical Affairs experience.

• Previous experience in cell therapy, CAR-T, immunology, rheumatology, nephrology, neurology, hematology/oncology, or rare diseases is strongly preferred.

• A solid understanding of clinical trial design, clinical development, and medical affairs functions is essential.

• Experience engaging with academic medical centers, specialty treatment centers, and/or infusion centers is preferred.

• Capability to interpret and convey complex scientific and clinical information to varied audiences.

• Excellent presentation, communication, and interpersonal skills are required.

• Proven ability to build robust external relationships and collaborate effectively across cross-functional teams.

• Comfortable working in a fast-paced, high-growth biotechnology setting.

• Willingness and capability to travel extensively within the designated geography.

• Experience in supporting pre-commercial or launch-stage biotechnology organizations.

• Knowledge of autoimmune disease treatment landscapes and innovative cell therapy methods.

• Experience aiding investigator-sponsored research and initiatives for clinical trial recruitment.

• Familiarity with cell therapy operational concepts, including chain of identity, chain of custody, and treatment center workflows.
