Medical Science Liaison, Rheumatology

This is a fully remote position, open to applicants in Oklahoma, +1 more state.

📋 Description

• Create and execute a scientific engagement strategy for the North Texas/Oklahoma region.

• Build and nurture professional connections with community and academic opinion leaders/KOLs.

• Participate in high-quality, reciprocal scientific discussions with healthcare professionals.

• Gather, analyze, and apply clinical, scientific, competitive, and regional information.

• Utilize AI tools and insights to enhance decision-making, processes, efficiency, and outcomes.

• Stay informed about competitors and integrate evidence-based clinical context into engagement strategies.

• Present scientific data through clear communication and presentations tailored to the needs of HCPs.

• Recognize challenges or unmet needs and suggest evidence-based solutions or educational programs.

• Identify, collect, and report actionable insights that align with organizational priorities.

• Address unsolicited inquiries regarding J&J products and research.

• Assist investigators and internal partners with company-sponsored and investigator-initiated studies.

• Work collaboratively with Medical Affairs, R&D, Clinical Operations, Sales, Marketing, and other internal teams.

• Maintain scientific expertise through self-directed learning, journal clubs, seminars, conferences, and peer discussions.

• Promote inclusion and belonging both internally and externally.

• Ensure compliance with regulatory, healthcare standards, corporate conduct, Medical Affairs SOPs, and guidelines.

• Formulate and execute a performance and development plan together with the Field Director.

• Accurately and compliantly fulfill administrative tasks, activity documentation, and expense reporting.

⛳️ Requirements

• A Doctorate level degree or equivalent experience is essential (PharmD, PhD, MD, Advanced Practice Providers).

• Postgraduate experience is necessary for Doctoral level candidates, with a preference for clinical experience in therapeutic areas.

• Profound scientific and/or therapeutic knowledge.

• Understanding of research and/or healthcare systems.

• Competence in data collection and analysis, clinical expertise, problem-solving, interpersonal influence, cross-functional collaboration, strategic thinking, and competitive landscape analysis.

• Ability to cover a specific territory with up to 70% travel.

• A valid US Driver’s License is required.

• Over 2 years of relevant experience is preferred, ideally in an MSL role.

• More than 2 years of therapeutic area experience is favored.

• Completion of a residency/fellowship is preferred.

• Board certification for clinical degrees is advantageous.

• Proven commitment to learning about emerging technologies, such as AI.

• Must reside in a major metropolitan area; preference for Tulsa or Oklahoma City.
