Medical Science Liaison, Rheumatology

This is a fully remote position, open to applicants in Kentucky, +3 more states.

📋 Description

• Formulate and execute a scientific engagement strategy that aligns with the Medical Affairs framework and prioritized medical goals.

• Establish and nurture professional relationships with academic and community opinion leaders, as well as Key Opinion Leaders (KOLs).

• Facilitate robust and meaningful scientific exchanges with healthcare professionals.

• Gather, integrate, and utilize clinical, scientific, competitive, and territory-specific information.

• Utilize AI tools and insights to enhance decision-making, optimize processes, increase efficiency, and improve outcomes.

• Stay informed about competitor activities and embed evidence-based clinical context into scientific engagements.

• Present scientific data customized to the needs of healthcare professionals through discussions and presentations.

• Identify unmet needs and collaboratively develop evidence-based solutions or educational initiatives.

• Gather and submit actionable insights to guide medical strategies and cross-functional dialogues.

• Address unsolicited queries regarding Johnson & Johnson products and research.

• Assist investigators and internal stakeholders in relation to company-sponsored and investigator-initiated studies.

• Work in partnership with MSL field teams, R&D, U.S. and Global Medical Affairs, Clinical Operations, Sales, and Marketing.

• Maintain scientific knowledge through self-study, journal clubs, seminars, conferences, and peer discussions.

• Promote a culture of inclusion and belonging both internally and externally.

• Stay updated on regulatory, healthcare compliance, corporate conduct, and Medical Affairs policies.

• Create and execute a performance and development plan in conjunction with the Field Director.

• Accurately and compliantly fulfill administrative duties, including activity documentation and expense reporting.

⛳️ Requirements

• A Doctorate-level degree or equivalent experience is mandatory (PharmD, PhD, MD, Advanced Practice Providers).

• Postgraduate experience is necessary for Doctoral-level candidates, with a preference for clinical experience in a therapeutic area.

• Extensive scientific and/or therapeutic knowledge is required.

• Familiarity with research and/or healthcare systems is essential.

• Expertise in data collection and analysis, clinical knowledge, problem-solving, interpersonal influence, cross-functional collaboration, strategic thinking, and competitive landscape assessment.

• Willingness to support a specific territory with up to 70% travel, including in-territory trips, internal meetings, and conferences.

• A valid U.S. Driver’s License is required.

• At least 2 years of relevant experience, preferably in an MSL role.

• A minimum of 2 years of experience in a therapeutic area is preferred.

• Completion of a residency or fellowship is preferred.

• Board certification for clinical degrees is preferred.

• A demonstrated commitment to learning about emerging technologies, including AI.
