Medical Science Liaison, Rheumatology

This is a fully remote position, open to applicants in Florida.

📋 Description

• Develop and execute a strategic scientific engagement plan that aligns with the objectives of Medical Affairs.

• Build and nurture relationships with key community and academic opinion leaders (KOLs).

• Facilitate high-quality, reciprocal scientific exchanges with healthcare professionals.

• Gather, synthesize, and apply clinical, scientific, competitive, and regional information effectively.

• Utilize AI tools and insights to enhance decision-making, processes, efficiency, and outcomes.

• Stay informed about competitors and integrate evidence-based clinical context into scientific discussions.

• Present scientific data tailored to the needs of healthcare professionals through interactive dialogue and presentations.

• Identify challenges or unmet needs, proposing evidence-based solutions or educational initiatives.

• Provide timely, actionable insights that inform medical strategies and facilitate cross-functional discussions.

• Address unsolicited inquiries regarding J&J products and research activities.

• Assist investigators and internal partners with company-sponsored and investigator-initiated studies.

• Collaborate with MSL field partners, Research & Development, U.S. and Global Medical Affairs, Clinical Operations, Sales, and Marketing teams.

• Maintain scientific expertise through self-study, journal clubs, seminars, congresses, and discussions with peers.

• Promote inclusion and a sense of belonging within the team.

• Ensure competence in regulatory, healthcare compliance, ethical conduct, and Medical Affairs Standard Operating Procedures (SOPs).

• Create a performance and development plan in collaboration with the Field Director.

• Accurately and compliantly complete administrative documentation and expense reporting.

⛳️ Requirements

• A Doctorate-level degree or equivalent experience is necessary (PharmD, PhD, MD, Advanced Practice Providers).

• Postgraduate experience is required for Doctoral level candidates, with a preference for clinical experience in therapeutic areas.

• Comprehensive scientific and/or therapeutic knowledge is essential.

• Knowledge of research and/or the healthcare system is required.

• Proficiency in data collection and analysis, clinical expertise, problem-solving, interpersonal influence, cross-functional collaboration, strategic thinking, and competitive landscape analysis.

• Ability to support a designated territory with up to 70% travel.

• A valid U.S. Driver’s License is mandatory.

• Preferred: 2+ years of relevant experience, ideally in an MSL role.

• 2+ years of therapeutic area experience is preferred.

• Completion of a residency or fellowship is preferred.

• Board certification for clinical degrees is preferred.

• A demonstrated commitment to learning about emerging technologies, including AI, is essential.

• Candidates should be located in a major metropolitan area, with a preference for Orlando.
