Medical Science Liaison, Rheumatology

This is a fully remote position, open to applicants in Alabama, +5 more states.

📋 Description

• Design and execute a scientific engagement strategy that aligns with the Medical Affairs objectives and goals.

• Build and nurture relationships with key opinion leaders and influential figures in both community and academic settings.

• Facilitate high-quality, reciprocal scientific dialogue with healthcare professionals.

• Gather, synthesize, and utilize clinical, scientific, competitive, and territory-specific information.

• Utilize AI tools and insights to enhance decision-making, streamline processes, boost efficiency, and improve outcomes.

• Present scientific data effectively through well-structured presentations and discussions tailored to the needs of healthcare professionals.

• Identify challenges and unfulfilled needs, proposing evidence-based solutions or educational initiatives.

• Gather and submit actionable insights to guide medical strategy and facilitate cross-functional discussions.

• Address unsolicited inquiries regarding Johnson & Johnson products and research.

• Provide support to investigators and internal teams for both company-sponsored and investigator-initiated studies.

• Collaborate with MSL field partners, R&D, U.S. and Global Medical Affairs, Clinical Operations, Sales, and Marketing teams.

• Maintain scientific knowledge through self-directed learning, journal clubs, seminars, congresses, and peer discussions.

• Acquire knowledge of regulatory, healthcare compliance, business conduct, Medical Affairs SOPs, and guidelines.

• Create and implement a performance and development plan in conjunction with the Field Director.

• Accurately and compliantly complete administrative documentation and expense reporting.

⛳️ Requirements

• A Doctorate-level degree or equivalent experience is mandatory (PharmD, PhD, MD, Advanced Practice Providers).

• Post-graduate experience is required for candidates with Doctoral degrees.

• Comprehensive scientific and/or therapeutic knowledge is essential.

• Familiarity with research and/or the healthcare system is necessary.

• Proficiency in data collection and analysis, clinical expertise, problem-solving, interpersonal influence, cross-functional collaboration, strategic thinking, and competitive landscape analysis.

• Capability to support a specific territory with up to 70% travel.

• A valid U.S. Driver’s License is required.

• A minimum of 2 years of relevant experience, preferably in an MSL role (preferred).

• At least 2 years of experience in a therapeutic area (preferred).

• Completion of residency/fellowship is preferred.

• Board certification for clinical degrees is preferred.

• Candidates should be located in a major metropolitan area; Birmingham or Kansas City is preferred.

• A demonstrated commitment to learning and utilizing emerging technologies, such as AI, is essential.
