Medical Science Liaison – Renal

This is a fully remote position, open to applicants in New York.

📋 Description

• Offer medical and scientific assistance for AstraZeneca’s marketed renal products, new indications, and compounds in development.

• Participate in scientific discussions with targeted Key Opinion Leaders, Key Decision Makers, and Healthcare Professionals.

• Identify and connect with key customers utilizing scientific knowledge and business acumen.

• Cultivate peer-level relationships with Key Decision Makers, Healthcare Professionals, and researchers.

• Identify investigators for pre-clinical, clinical, and post-marketing studies.

• Discover barriers to optimal disease management and pinpoint opportunities for enhancing patient outcomes.

• Provide actionable insights to internal stakeholders regarding the value and proper use of AstraZeneca products.

• Address customer inquiries with focused and balanced clinical and scientific data.

• Present clinical and scientific information that sets AstraZeneca products apart.

• Adhere to internal standard processes as well as regulatory and compliance requirements.

• Maintain expertise in disease-state management, emerging therapies, and the competitive landscape.

• Deliver clinical support and present regional and national data.

• Lead and manage projects within the field medical team and therapeutic area.

• Provide training, performance guidelines, and mentorship to colleagues.

⛳️ Requirements

• An Advanced Clinical/Science Degree is required, such as MD, PharmD, PhD, NP, or PA-C; a BSN with extensive clinical experience may also be considered.

• A minimum of 3 years of experience in a clinical or commercial environment.

• Comprehensive understanding of the healthcare system landscape.

• Established networks and clinical experience within the relevant therapeutic area.

• Experience within the pharmaceutical industry.

• Proficiency in discussing scientific content and context with diverse audiences.

• Exceptional oral and written communication, as well as interpersonal skills.

• Strong leadership skills.

• Excellent project management capabilities.

• In-depth knowledge of the regulatory environment.

• Willingness to travel 50–70% of the time.

• Experience in delivering quality improvement initiatives is a plus.

• Over 2 years of Medical Science Liaison experience in the pharmaceutical sector is preferred.

• A proven history of basic or clinical research is desirable.
