Medical Science Liaison, Neuropsychiatry

This is a fully remote position, open to applicants in Alabama.

📋 Description

• Act as a reliable medical partner for both internal stakeholders and the healthcare community.

• Recognize disease- and product-related medical requirements within a specified geographical area.

• Build and sustain relationships with Thought Leaders, Healthcare Providers, academic and community research leaders, as well as access stakeholders.

• Engage in significant scientific discussions through individual meetings, group presentations, and virtual interactions.

• Address scientific inquiries, unsolicited product questions, and HEOR-related queries.

• Deliver scientifically accurate information and answer questions while adhering to procedural, ethical, and legal standards.

• Evaluate the medical landscape, customer needs, treatment strategies, products, unmet medical needs, clinical trials, HEOR, scientific initiatives, competitive landscape, and healthcare models.

• Spot opportunities for disease-state initiatives, collaborative research, and investigator-sponsored research.

• Participate in medical congresses and local/regional gatherings.

• Gather and relay significant medical insights to both medical and commercial organizations.

• Contribute to the Medical Plan and formulate geography-specific Field Medical and Thought Leader interaction strategies.

• Assist in cross-functional institution/account plans.

• Aid in scientifically valuable medical programs and projects.

• Work together with cross-matrix field teams.

• Provide medical/scientific training and deliver scientific updates to internal stakeholders.

• Offer scientific support during promotional meetings and assist BMS-contracted speakers.

• Engage in assigned congress activities.

• Support interventional and non-interventional research studies, including site identification and patient recruitment.

• Provide recommendations for study and site feasibility to clinical development teams.

• Assist HCPs with investigator-sponsored research submissions, execution, and follow-ups.

• Ensure that pharmacovigilance procedures are understood and implemented by investigators and notify BMS personnel of any adverse events.

• Support CRO-sponsored studies.

• Dedicate the majority of time to fieldwork with external customers.

⛳️ Requirements

• Advanced degree in medical/biosciences (MD, PhD, PharmD, DNP, PA-C, etc.).

• At least 3–5 years of experience as an MSL or in clinical practice.

• Current experience as an MSL or in clinical practice in psychiatry, mental health, or schizophrenia.

• Demonstrated ability to establish, maintain, and enhance effective collegial relationships with external experts.

• Familiarity with the disease area and relevant scientific literature.

• Understanding of scientific or clinical areas, competitive landscape, and patient treatment trends.

• Knowledge of clinical trial design and processes.

• Awareness of the national healthcare and access environment.

• Understanding of HEOR core concepts.

• Exceptional spoken and written English language skills.

• Capability to work independently while also being a team player.

• Ability to translate scientific or clinical data into accessible and valuable information for physicians.

• Strong communication and presentation skills for conveying scientific and clinical data to research or healthcare professionals.

• Experience in developing peer-to-peer relationships with Thought Leaders, scientists, and community-based HCPs.

• Quick and comprehensive learner of new subject areas and environments.

• Responsible and safe driving history.

• Ability to operate a company-provided vehicle.

• Must be capable of driving a BMS-provided vehicle between locations.

• Residency within the managed territory or within 50 miles of the territory borders is required.
