Medical Science Liaison, Neurology – Alzheimer's Disease

This is a fully remote position, open to applicants in California.

📋 Description

• Serve as the primary clinical and scientific resource for healthcare professionals (HCPs) within the designated territory concerning disease state and Eisai products.

• Facilitate the exchange of precise clinical, scientific, and medical information between key opinion leaders (KOLs)/investigators and Medical Affairs as well as development teams.

• Build and sustain professional relationships with KOLs specializing in Alzheimer’s disease and dementia.

• Deliver presentations on clinical and scientific data related to Eisai products and pertinent therapeutic areas.

• Provide support at assigned professional congresses and coordinate Medical Science Liaison (MSL) activities during congress coverage.

• Identify and relay scientific, clinical, and research insights from KOLs to Medical Affairs.

• Keep up-to-date knowledge on disease state, study methodologies, clinical information, and product data.

• Implement approved medical platforms, strategies, and MSL initiatives.

• Act as a scientific subject matter expert for cross-functional partners.

• Educate, coach, and mentor less experienced MSLs; support supervision and performance evaluations.

• Lead and participate in special projects, leadership initiatives, and strategic planning.

• Oversee the review and follow-up of Investigator-Initiated Studies.

• Assist with Eisai-sponsored trials, including recommendations for site selection and scientific expertise.

• Communicate information regarding Eisai and its mission in human health care.

• Offer scientific and clinical insights about Eisai products and pipeline developments.

• Act as a liaison between Eisai Research and the medical community concerning future research endeavors.

⛳️ Requirements

• Advanced terminal degree in medical or health sciences or a related field (e.g., MD/DO, PhD, PharmD).

• A minimum of 2 years of industry, clinical research, or related experience in a scientific or clinical environment.

• A minimum of 3 years of experience is required for the Senior MSL title.

• MSL experience in neurology or complex disease states is preferred.

• Previous research experience in dementia or Alzheimer’s Disease is strongly preferred.

• Established relationships with KOLs in neurology are preferred.

• Strong foundational scientific and pharmaceutical knowledge is essential.

• Familiarity with treatment guidelines, clinical research methodologies, FDA regulations, pharmaceutical regulations, and OIG guidelines is required.

• Proficient in communicating complex data sets and educating leading KOLs.

• Excellent written and verbal communication skills.

• Ability to engage in strategic conversations and assess issues effectively.

• Capability to anticipate, organize, plan, and manage multiple priorities.

• Ability to work independently while adhering to compliance and regulatory policies.

• Experience in a matrix environment involving cross-functional commercial partners is beneficial.

• Proficient computer and technology skills, including word processing, slide presentations, spreadsheets, and video conferencing.

• A valid driver’s license and clean driving record are required.

• Must be able to travel frequently for business (approximately 60%), which includes air travel, overnight stays, and occasional weekends.

• Ability to establish a home-based office within the designated territory.

• Capable of regular in-person engagement with HCPs and other third parties.

• May be required to complete third-party credentialing and/or entry requirements, including vaccination attestations or proof.
