Medical Science Liaison – MSL

This is a fully remote position, open to applicants in California, +3 more states.

📋 Description

• Engage scientifically, collaborate, and align with external stakeholders to enhance patient access and outcomes.

• Establish, cultivate, maintain, and customize long-term professional relationships with healthcare professionals, medical experts, investigators, researchers, pharmacists, payers, and opinion leaders.

• Effectively communicate relevant scientific evidence to stakeholders.

• Partner with health systems to pinpoint medical intelligence, identify data gaps, explore data generation opportunities, address unmet needs, and capitalize on opportunities.

• Support clinical trial processes, including site recommendations and management of Investigator relationships.

• Promptly respond to unsolicited information requests regarding marketed and pipeline compounds in a compliant manner.

• Map external stakeholders and devise personalized engagement strategies and plans.

• Utilize digital channels to lead scientific events, exchanges, and medical education initiatives.

• Contribute to patient journey mapping, launch excellence, evidence generation, product strategy, and medical strategy.

• Act as the medical, clinical, and scientific authority for field colleagues.

• Mentor, guide, and provide formal field training to team members.

• Lead high-level and special projects, representing Autolus at regional and global meetings.

• Manage both personal and professional development.

• Complete CRM, compliance training, expense reporting, and other administrative duties.

• Adhere to company ethics, compliance, and external engagement policies.

• Travel 50% of the time, sometimes with short notice.

• Achieve KPIs related to field activities, planned initiatives, medical intelligence quality, and field medical excellence processes.

⛳️ Requirements

• Minimum of five years of MSL or relevant industry experience.

• Experience with CAR T launches.

• In-depth knowledge of hematologic malignancies.

• Strong business acumen, leadership abilities, and innovative, solution-oriented critical thinking.

• Proven track record in process improvement and team building.

• Experience in gaining customer insights and driving change.

• Exceptional communication, interpersonal, and influencing skills.

• Ability to work autonomously with minimal guidance.

• Capacity to adapt, organize, prioritize, and collaborate in multifunctional teams.

• Strong personal integrity.

• Allopathic or Osteopathic Medical degree.

• Preferred qualifications include Pharm.D., PhD, Doctor of Nursing Practice, APP, or other terminal degrees in health/life sciences.

• Bachelor of Science in Nursing with at least 5 years of experience in patient care and/or clinical research focused on hematologic malignancies, along with 5 years of relevant industry experience in CAR T therapies acceptable.

• Ability to leverage technology, digital tools, and IT solutions for stakeholder mapping and medical intelligence collection.

• Comprehensive understanding of CAR-T therapy.

• Familiarity with pharmaceutical research procedures and guidelines.

• Strong critical thinking and problem-solving abilities.

• Skilled in process mapping and analytical problem-solving.

• Proficient in communicating plans and progress to diverse audiences.

• Proficient in PowerPoint, Excel, Word, and project management software.

• Willingness to travel 50% of the time, sometimes with short notice.
