Medical Science Liaison – Hematology

This is a fully remote position, open to applicants in California.

📋 Description

• Formulate and execute a scientific engagement strategy for the territory that aligns with Medical Affairs objectives and goals.

• Engage in meaningful two-way scientific dialogues with key opinion leaders and healthcare professionals.

• Build and nurture professional relationships with community and academic healthcare providers (HCPs) and key opinion leaders (KOLs).

• Leverage MSL tools, insights, and artificial intelligence resources to enhance customer engagement and outcomes.

• Assess provider educational needs and provide customized, scientifically sound responses.

• Present scientific information and simplify complex clinical data for effective discussions.

• Gather and submit actionable insights that inform medical strategy, asset planning, and interdepartmental discussions.

• Assist investigators and internal collaborators with both company-sponsored and investigator-initiated research studies.

• Address unsolicited research and clinical inquiries with objective and compliant information.

• Implement Medical Affairs strategy and MSL priorities while adapting to changing data and organizational goals.

• Collaborate with MSL field colleagues, Research & Development, US and Global Medical Affairs, clinical operations, Sales, and Marketing.

• Stay informed about scientific developments through self-directed learning, journal clubs, seminars, congresses, and peer discussions.

• Promote inclusivity and a sense of belonging within both internal and external communities.

• Maintain an understanding of regulatory, healthcare compliance, corporate ethical standards, and Medical Affairs Standard Operating Procedures (SOPs).

• Create performance and development plans and lead leadership initiatives in conjunction with the direct manager.

• Fulfill administrative responsibilities, including expense reporting and activity documentation.

⛳️ Requirements

• A Doctorate-level degree or equivalent experience is mandatory (PharmD, PhD, MD, Advanced Practice Providers, etc.).

• Postgraduate experience is necessary for Doctoral-level candidates, with a preference for therapeutic clinical experience.

• A minimum of 2 years of relevant experience, including proven success in an MSL role.

• Strong scientific and therapeutic knowledge combined with skills in research, data analysis, clinical proficiency, problem-solving, strategic thinking, and cross-functional teamwork.

• Must be able to support a defined territory with up to 70% travel, which includes in-territory visits and participation in internal meetings, external congresses, and related events.

• A valid US Driver’s License is required.

• Preference for candidates with 2+ years of experience in a therapeutic area.

• Residency or fellowship experience is preferred.

• Board certification for clinical degrees is advantageous.

• A demonstrated commitment to learning about emerging technologies, such as AI, through exploration, iteration, and practical application over time.
