Medical Science Liaison – Hematology

This is a fully remote position, open to applicants in California.

📋 Description

• Formulate and execute a scientific engagement strategy for the designated territory in alignment with the Medical Affairs framework and medical goals.

• Participate in reciprocal scientific discussions with Key Opinion Leaders (KOLs) and Healthcare Professionals (HCPs).

• Discover and nurture relationships with both community and academic HCPs/KOLs.

• Utilize insights and Medical Science Liaison (MSL) tools to create strategic approaches for customer engagement.

• Harness AI tools and insights to enhance decision-making, streamline processes, boost efficiency, and improve outcomes.

• Assess provider educational requirements and deliver customized, scientifically sound responses.

• Present scientific data through effective dialogue and presentations, converting intricate clinical evidence into meaningful conversations.

• Gather, consolidate, and disseminate actionable insights that inform medical strategies, asset planning, and cross-functional dialogues.

• Act as a primary contact for investigators and internal stakeholders regarding company-sponsored and investigator-initiated studies.

• Address unsolicited research and clinical inquiries with objective, compliant information.

• Implement Medical Affairs strategies and MSL priorities while adjusting plans to accommodate evolving data, compliance factors, and organizational objectives.

• Collaborate in a compliant manner with MSL field partners, Research & Development, US and Global Medical Affairs, clinical operations, Sales, and Marketing.

• Maintain scientific knowledge through self-directed study, journal clubs, seminars, congresses, and peer discussions.

• Promote inclusion and a sense of belonging both internally and externally.

• Acquire proficiency in regulatory frameworks, healthcare compliance, corporate conduct, ethics, and Medical Affairs standard operating procedures (SOPs).

• Create and execute a performance and development plan in conjunction with the direct manager.

• Undertake leadership initiatives that bolster medical planning and organizational capabilities.

• Fulfill administrative obligations, which include expense reports and activity documentation.

⛳️ Requirements

• A Doctorate-level degree or equivalent experience is mandatory (PharmD, PhD, MD, Advanced Practice Providers, etc.).

• Postgraduate experience is essential for Doctoral level candidates, with a preference for therapeutic clinical experience.

• A minimum of 2 years of relevant experience, showcasing proven success as an MSL.

• Strong scientific/therapeutic knowledge accompanied by skills in research, data analysis, clinical expertise, problem-solving, strategic thinking, and cross-functional collaboration.

• Capability to manage a defined territory with up to 70% travel, which includes in-territory visits and participation in internal meetings, external congresses, and related events.

• A valid US Driver’s License is required.

• Over 2 years of experience in a therapeutic area is preferred.

• Residency/fellowship is preferred.

• Board certification for clinical degrees is preferred.

• A demonstrated dedication to learning emerging technologies, including AI.
