Medical Science Liaison – Head & Neck Oncology

This is a fully remote position, open to applicants in California.

📋 Description

• Create and execute a scientific engagement strategy for the territory that aligns with Medical Affairs objectives and key medical priorities.

• Build and nurture professional relationships with community and academic opinion leaders/KOLs.

• Participate in two-way scientific discussions within the relevant disease area.

• Gather, synthesize, and utilize clinical, scientific, competitive, and territory-specific information.

• Utilize AI tools and insights to improve decision-making processes and operational efficiency.

• Track competitor activities and integrate evidence-based clinical context into engagement strategies.

• Present scientific data through discussions and presentations tailored to the needs of healthcare professionals (HCPs).

• Identify challenges and unmet needs, proposing evidence-based solutions or educational initiatives.

• Provide actionable insights that align with the organization's strategic priorities.

• Address unsolicited inquiries regarding J&J products and research.

• Assist investigators and internal stakeholders with company-sponsored and investigator-initiated studies.

• Work collaboratively with MSL field partners, R&D, U.S. and Global Medical Affairs, Clinical Operations, Sales, and Marketing.

• Maintain scientific knowledge through self-study, journal clubs, seminars, conferences, and peer discussions.

• Promote inclusion and a sense of belonging within the organization.

• Stay informed about regulatory compliance, corporate conduct, and Medical Affairs standard operating procedures (SOPs).

• Develop and execute a performance and development plan in conjunction with the Field Director.

• Complete administrative tasks, including activity documentation and expense reporting.

⛳️ Requirements

• A Doctorate-level degree or equivalent experience is mandatory (PharmD, PhD, MD, Advanced Practice Providers).

• Postgraduate experience is necessary for Doctoral candidates, with a preference for those with clinical experience in therapeutic areas.

• Comprehensive scientific and/or therapeutic knowledge is essential.

• Familiarity with research and/or the healthcare system is required.

• Expertise in data collection and analysis, clinical knowledge, problem-solving, interpersonal influence, cross-functional collaboration, strategic thinking, and competitive landscape analysis.

• Willingness to travel up to 70% within a designated territory.

• A valid U.S. Driver’s License is mandatory.

• A minimum of 2 years of relevant experience is preferred, ideally in a Medical Science Liaison (MSL) role.

• At least 2 years of experience in a therapeutic area is preferred.

• Completion of a residency or fellowship is preferred.

• Board certification for clinical qualifications is preferred.

• A demonstrated commitment to learning emerging technologies, including AI, through exploration, experimentation, and application of new tools over time.
