This is a fully remote position, open to applicants in Massachusetts.
• Make a difference by enhancing clinical practices within the designated territory to improve patient outcomes.
• Exhibit therapeutic knowledge and comprehend the influences within the territory and market.
• Engage scientifically with healthcare providers and medical specialists.
• Oversee and develop the assigned territory while executing activities that align with medical strategy.
• Gather significant and actionable insights to inform and guide medical strategy.
• Build and nurture professional relationships with healthcare providers and thought leaders.
• Conduct customer engagements that involve emerging data, clinical trials, patient journey obstacles, market dynamics, unmet medical needs, pipeline discussions, disease state and product education, adverse event reporting, and medical insights.
• Identify, map, and strategize medical engagements and key accounts.
• Recognize stakeholders who influence the patient journey and disease landscape.
• Formulate education, engagement, and partnership strategies.
• Spot partnership opportunities with academic institutions, centers of excellence, and healthcare systems.
• Identify opportunities for healthcare providers to engage in publications and clinical trials.
• Collaborate internally to further therapeutic-area, clinical, and product objectives.
• Provide medical support for company-sponsored clinical trials.
• Work collaboratively with Medical Affairs and Clinical Operations.
• Partner with HEOR, access, marketing, commercial, and sales teams.
• Act as a medical resource for customers and internal colleagues.
• Stay informed of internal policies and external regulations.
• Fulfill administrative duties and training, including Veeva CRM, email, voicemail, expense reports, and compliance modules.
• Profile core customers and maintain up-to-date CRM information.
• Advocate for emerging responsibilities as strategic priorities and territory needs evolve.
• Promote personal and professional development.
• A graduate degree in science or healthcare is required.
• Strong clinical understanding of pharmacotherapy, treatment guidelines, clinical research processes, medical expert engagement strategies, and FDA promotional guidelines, regulations, and ethical standards.
• For Manager level: 0–3 years of experience in a field medical position within the pharmaceutical industry or as an MSL is required, or 3–5 years of relevant medical affairs, clinical research, or related scientific/clinical experience is preferred.
• For Associate Director level: a minimum of 3 years of field medical/pharmaceutical or MSL experience is preferred, or 5–7 years of relevant medical affairs, clinical research, or related scientific/clinical experience is required.
• Residing within the assigned territory or within a reasonable daily commuting distance of 50 miles from the territory border is necessary.
• Approximately 60–70% travel is required.
• A valid, fully valid, and unrestricted driver’s license is required.
• Compliance with Novartis policies and state and federal laws and regulations is essential.
• Ability to work within Ethics, Compliance, and Promotional policies is necessary.
• Previous experience in the assigned or related therapeutic area is preferred.
