Medical Science Liaison – CAPLYTA, Neuroscience

This is a fully remote position, open to applicants in Maryland, +1 more state.

📋 Description

• Formulate and execute a scientific engagement strategy for the territory in alignment with the Medical Affairs framework, medical goals, and sanctioned core medical resources.

• Build and nurture professional connections with community and academic opinion leaders/KOLs.

• Participate in reciprocal scientific discussions within the relevant disease domain.

• Gather, synthesize, and utilize clinical, scientific, competitive, and territory-specific information.

• Utilize AI tools and insights to enhance decision-making, processes, efficiency, and results.

• Observe competitors and integrate evidence-based clinical context into engagement strategies and scientific conversations.

• Present scientific data customized to the needs of healthcare professionals through discussions and presentations.

• Recognize challenges or unmet needs and suggest evidence-based solutions or educational programs.

• Identify, gather, and report actionable insights that align with organizational objectives.

• Address unsolicited inquiries related to J&J products and research.

• Assist investigators and internal collaborators for both company-sponsored and investigator-initiated studies.

• Work in collaboration with MSL field partners, R&D, U.S. and Global Medical Affairs, Clinical Operations, Sales, and Marketing.

• Maintain scientific knowledge through self-study, journal clubs, seminars, congresses, and peer discussions.

• Promote inclusion and a sense of belonging internally and externally.

• Stay informed about regulatory, healthcare compliance, corporate conduct, ethics, Medical Affairs SOPs, and guidelines.

• Create and implement a performance and development plan in coordination with the Field Director.

• Accurately and compliantly fulfill administrative duties, activity documentation, and expense reporting.

⛳️ Requirements

• A Doctorate level degree or equivalent experience is required (PharmD, PhD, MD, Advanced Practice Providers).

• Postgraduate experience is mandatory for Doctoral level candidates.

• Preference for candidates with clinical experience in the therapeutic area.

• Comprehensive scientific and/or therapeutic knowledge is essential.

• Familiarity with research and/or healthcare systems is necessary.

• Proficient in data collection and analysis, clinical expertise, problem-solving, interpersonal influence, cross-functional collaboration, strategic thinking, and competitive landscape assessment.

• Must be capable of supporting a specific territory with up to 70% travel, both within the territory and for internal meetings and congresses.

• A valid US Driver’s License is required.

• A minimum of 2 years of relevant experience is preferred, ideally in an MSL role.

• At least 2 years of experience in the therapeutic area is preferred.

• Residency or fellowship experience is preferred.

• Board certification for clinical degrees is favored.

• Proven commitment to learning about emerging technologies, such as AI, through exploration, iteration, and the application of new tools over time.
