Medical Science Liaison – CAPLYTA, Neuroscience

This is a fully remote position, open to applicants in Maryland, +1 more state.

📋 Description

• Develop and execute a scientific engagement strategy for the territory that aligns with Medical Affairs goals and medical objectives.

• Build and nurture relationships with community and academic opinion leaders/KOLs.

• Facilitate high-quality, two-way scientific discussions with healthcare professionals.

• Gather, synthesize, and utilize clinical, scientific, competitive, and territory-specific information.

• Utilize AI tools and insights to enhance decision-making, processes, efficiency, and outcomes.

• Stay informed about competitors and integrate evidence-based clinical context into engagement strategies.

• Present scientific data through discussions and presentations customized to HCP needs.

• Identify challenges or unmet needs and suggest evidence-based solutions or educational initiatives.

• Provide actionable insights that guide medical strategy and cross-functional discussions.

• Address unsolicited inquiries regarding J&J products and research.

• Support investigators and internal partners for company-sponsored and investigator-initiated research studies.

• Collaborate with MSL field partners, R&D, U.S. and Global Medical Affairs, Clinical Operations, Sales, and Marketing.

• Maintain scientific knowledge through self-study, journal clubs, seminars, congresses, and peer discussions.

• Promote inclusion and a sense of belonging.

• Keep updated on regulatory, healthcare compliance, corporate conduct, and Medical Affairs SOPs.

• Create and implement a performance and development plan in conjunction with the Field Director.

• Accurately and compliantly fulfill administrative requirements, activity documentation, and expense reporting.

⛳️ Requirements

• A Doctorate level degree or equivalent experience is essential (PharmD, PhD, MD, Advanced Practice Providers).

• Postgraduate experience is necessary for Doctoral level candidates.

• Comprehensive scientific and/or therapeutic knowledge is required.

• Familiarity with research and/or the healthcare system is essential.

• Proficient in data gathering and analysis, clinical expertise, problem-solving, interpersonal influence, cross-functional collaboration, strategic thinking, and competitive landscape analysis.

• Must be able to support a specific territory with up to 70% travel.

• A valid US Driver’s License is mandatory.

• A minimum of 2 years of relevant experience is preferred, ideally in an MSL role.

• At least 2 years of experience in the therapeutic area is preferred.

• Completion of residency/fellowship is preferred.

• Board certification for clinical degrees is preferred.

• A proven commitment to learning emerging technologies, including AI, is essential.
