This is a fully remote position, open to applicants in Maryland.
• Offer scientific and medical leadership in relationships with key thought leaders and external experts.
• Build a solid medical and scientific presence in prominent academic institutions by facilitating research and educational initiatives.
• Address inquiries for medical and scientific information regarding Abbott Diabetes Care products and related therapeutic areas.
• Work collaboratively with other in-field team members while maintaining functional independence.
• Act as a medical and scientific affairs liaison for thought leaders and external experts within the designated geographic region.
• Present credible scientific information to healthcare providers, either individually or in groups.
• Engage in the selection of qualified thought leaders for educational and advisory collaborations.
• Participate in relevant scientific meetings and conferences.
• Partner with internal stakeholders to create summaries of key data and scientifically pertinent information.
• Represent the Medical Affairs section at exhibit booths during national scientific meetings and congresses.
• Provide scientific and technical assistance for scientific or medical publications.
• Conduct all activities in adherence to applicable laws, regulations, guidelines, codes of conduct, company policies, and recognized standards of best practice.
• Bachelor’s Degree in a health sciences discipline.
• An advanced degree in a relevant scientific field is preferred, including PharmD, MD/DO, NP/DNP, PA, or PhD.
• Candidates with an undergraduate degree in a relevant area and proven experience will also be considered.
• Current and relevant clinical licensure and board certification are required, such as Nurse Practitioner, Physician Associate, or Pharmacist.
• Board certification must be current and relevant to the clinical scope of practice.
• Capability to provide medical/scientific expertise and guidance to customers and thought leaders.
• Proficiency in delivering scientific presentations to healthcare providers.
• Willingness to travel 50% of the time.
• Ability to operate a personal vehicle or company car/truck as needed.
• Flexible remote work arrangement.
• Competitive base salary ranging from $113,300.00 to $226,700.00.
