This is a fully remote position, open to applicants in Texas.
• Execute outpatient and professional medical coding and validation across a diverse range of clinics and services.
• Guarantee precise assignment of CPT/HCPCS codes, modifiers, and E/M leveling in compliance with VA, CMS, AMA, and AHA guidelines.
• Code outpatient and professional encounters utilizing ICD-10-CM, CPT with modifiers, HCPCS, and E/M standards.
• Validate assigned encounters and ensure that documentation substantiates the codes billed.
• Utilize VIRR and the E/M calculator as required.
• Request documentation and coding clarifications from providers using approved query procedures.
• Engage in QA processes and provide training support.
• Address audit findings and resolve denials.
• Generate necessary reports and briefings for COR/POC.
• Achieve coding timeliness within 7 calendar days with over 95% compliance.
• Maintain a minimum accuracy rate of 95% for CPT/HCPCS, E/M, and ICD-10-CM.
• Complete monthly QA/improvement reporting and follow up as required.
• Current certification: RHIT, RHIA, CCS, CCS-P, and/or CPC (to be maintained throughout the contract).
• More than 3 years of continuous coding experience in a similar or larger facility.
• Expertise in ICD-10-CM, CPT, HCPCS, and E/M.
• Must be a U.S. citizen.
• Proficient in both written and spoken English.
• Familiarity with VA tools and systems is preferred: VistA/CPRS and VIRR.
• $5.09 per hour for Health and Wellness.
• Remote work with VPN access.
• Monday–Friday, 8:00am–4:30pm CT schedule.
