πŸ“‹ Description

β€’ Ensure that medical records are maintained in accordance with HIPAA and other regulatory guidelines.

β€’ Evaluate medical records for completeness, accuracy, and regulatory compliance.

β€’ Handle requests for medical records while adhering to privacy regulations.

β€’ Manage payer audits following payer policies and health insurance regulations.

β€’ Guarantee the prompt retrieval and delivery of medical records to patients, providers, attorneys, government entities, insurance companies, and payers.

β€’ Monitor and address documentation deficiencies.

β€’ Oversee compliance with healthcare regulations, accreditation standards, and organizational policies.

β€’ Address inquiries related to medical records and audits.

β€’ Contribute to quality enhancement initiatives concerning documentation and record management.

β€’ Assist in internal and external compliance audits.

β€’ Help with denials or recoupments arising from deficiencies in medical records or medical necessity.

β€’ Collaborate with managers and administrative personnel to correct record discrepancies.


⛳️ Requirements

β€’ A High School diploma or GED is mandatory.

β€’ An Associate degree in Health Information Management, Medical Office Administration, Healthcare Administration, or a related field is preferred.

β€’ 3-5 years of experience in medical records, health information management, auditing, release of information, or healthcare administration.

β€’ Proficiency in MS Office and Electronic Health Records (EHR) systems is essential.

β€’ Comprehensive understanding of HIPAA, medical terminology, and healthcare documentation standards.

β€’ Familiarity with healthcare auditing processes and compliance regulations.

β€’ Exceptional attention to detail and strong analytical abilities.

β€’ Competence in Microsoft Office and EHR software.

β€’ Outstanding organizational, written communication, and time management skills.

β€’ Capability to maintain confidentiality and manage sensitive information.

β€’ Ability to work collaboratively in a team setting.

β€’ Capacity to function independently in a remote work environment.

β€’ Availability Monday to Friday, from 8am to 5pm CST or EST.
