This is a fully remote position, open to applicants in Kentucky.
• Assist a designated client with Release of Information requests for patient medical records.
• Evaluate records to be released by examining requestor information in accordance with HIPAA regulations.
• Acquire relevant patient data from electronic, off-site, or physical records.
• Handle phone inquiries related to ROI issues.
• Attend to walk-in customers requesting medical records when necessary.
• Record customer information and medical record requests in the ROI On-Line database.
• Prioritize and process physician office requests, faxing information as required.
• Upload medical records into the ROI On-Line database.
• Adhere to facility policies and regulations.
• Manage and document cash payments for requests at designated sites.
• Carry out additional duties as assigned.
• Minimum of one year experience in data entry within computer systems.
• Proficiency in internet usage is essential.
• Familiarity with computer applications is required.
• Ability to work independently and achieve production targets set by MRO.
• Excellent verbal communication skills and a proven record of addressing customer inquiries.
• Strong attention to detail.
• Reliability and dependability.
• High School Diploma or GED is mandatory.
• Previous experience in Release of Information within a physician’s office or HIM Department is advantageous.
• Understanding of medical terminology is beneficial.
• Familiarity with HIPAA regulations is preferred.
