This is a fully remote position, open to applicants in Texas.
• Facilitate necessary urgent, emergent, and preventive health services for children involved in Refugio Urban Strategies programs.
• Maintain thorough and confidential medical records.
• Relay health requirements to case managers and clinicians.
• Organize healthcare appointments and arrange transportation.
• Guarantee access to qualified interpretation and translation services.
• Act as a liaison for community health providers.
• Coordinate health services to ensure timely and appropriate care.
• Assist in the development, implementation, and maintenance of standardized medical policies and workflows.
• Ensure adherence to ORR, CDC, state, and federal medical regulations.
• Conduct audits of medical documentation, UAC Portal entries, charts, and required timelines.
• Support federal or state audits, monitoring visits, and incident evaluations.
• Ensure uniformity and compliance in UC Portal entries, screenings, immunizations, surveillance, SIRs, and supply and medication inventories.
• Assist with medical-related SIR reviews and program-level medical reports.
• Develop and sustain confidential health records, triage, emergency response, environmental health safety, and post-release care procedures.
• Aid in training medical and non-medical personnel and onboarding new medical staff.
• Collaborate with Clinical, Case Management, Operations, Direct Care, HR, and other departments.
• Provide medical guidance during emergencies, escalations, or unusual medical situations.
• Participate in multidisciplinary and PMO leadership meetings.
• Expand partnerships with local medical, dental, specialty, and diagnostic providers.
• Support the opening or expansion of new programs by establishing medical operational systems.
• Exemplify Urban Strategies’ values while promoting safety, compliance, and quality care.
• At least 1 year of experience in a public health or healthcare environment with proven expertise in care coordination, health administration, or direct clinical care.
• Licensed practical or vocational nurse (LPN/LVN) or a higher health-related qualification (e.g., licensed registered nurse (RN) with a bachelor’s degree), OR a Bachelor’s degree in a relevant field.
• Proven experience in developing medical protocols, auditing compliance, and coordinating multidisciplinary teams.
• Strong comprehension of healthcare regulations, HIPAA, CDC guidelines, and ORR medical standards.
• Skills in organizational leadership, systems-building, and project management.
• Excellent abilities in communication, documentation, and relationship-building.
• Bilingual proficiency (English/Spanish) in both written and verbal forms.
• Clean criminal background check & CAN check.
• Must be able to travel to program sites as necessary.
• Must be 21 years or older.
• Capable of traveling to and navigating program sites and medical clinic environments.
• Able to stand, walk, or climb stairs during site visits.
• Able to respond flexibly to emergency program needs.
• Remote work is available for eligible positions.
