Medical Coding Specialist II – Orthopedics/Multi Spec

This is a fully remote position, open to applicants in Wisconsin.

📋 Description

• Conduct medical coding for Orthopedics and Multi-Specialty areas.

• Utilize coding knowledge across various specialties.

• Assist in HCC risk adjustment coding initiatives.

• Operate remotely from Monday to Friday for 40 hours per week, with work hours adjusting based on the needs of the department.

⛳️ Requirements

• Completion of Medical Coding education is required, or possession of an active coding certification in place of Medical Coding education.

• A High School diploma or equivalent is preferred.

• An Associate's Degree in a healthcare-related discipline is preferred.

• Minimum of 1 year of progressive coding experience is required.

• At least 2 years of progressive coding experience across multiple specialties, with a preference for HCC Risk Adjustment Coding.

• One of the following certifications must be obtained upon hire: CPC, COC, CIC, CCS, CCS-P, CCA, CRC, RHIT, or RHIA.

• Candidates must reside in an approved remote work state for UW Health.
