Medical Coding Specialist – Clinical Coder II

This is a fully remote position, open to applicants in United States.

📋 Description

• Input terms classified as adverse events and medical histories, as well as previous and concurrent medications, utilizing industry-standard dictionaries like MedDRA and WHODrug.

• Conduct coding in accordance with departmental conventions and the company's standard operating procedures (SOPs).

• Create queries to resolve potentially conflicting data.

• Assist in reviews of data coding consistency and reconciliation of serious adverse events (SAE) as necessary.

• Work closely with medical monitors and members of the Clinical and Data Management teams to ensure prompt processing in line with project deadlines.

• Support interdepartmental training for new employees as required.

⛳️ Requirements

• A Bachelor’s degree or a background in a related health science field.

• Relevant experience may be considered in place of a four-year degree.

• A minimum of 2 years of experience in the fields of pharmacovigilance, clinical research, and/or clinical data management.

• Familiarity with MedDRA and WHODD is preferred.

• A solid understanding of medical terminology, clinical trials, and coding practices.

• Outstanding written and verbal communication skills.

• Capacity to work autonomously as well as collaboratively within cross-functional teams.

• Strong attention to detail and a dedication to producing high-quality work.

• Knowledge of coding tools such as Medidata RAVE Coder, TMS, and Veeva.
