Medical Billing and Coding Training Program – Credentialing and Enrollment Internship

This is a fully remote position, open to applicants in California.

📋 Description

• Engage in approximately 20 weeks of online classroom training.

• Participate in roughly 19 weeks of online internship training.

• Acquire knowledge of CPT, ICD-10-CM, and HCPCS Level II coding systems.

• Assist with provider credentialing, recredentialing, payer enrollment, and activities related to provider network participation.

• Validate documentation and manage provider data effectively.

• Prepare, submit, and process claims and payments accurately.

• Provide precise support for requirements concerning provider credentialing and enrollment.

• Research and gather provider or clinic information through Epic in-basket communication.

• Review and organize payer enrollment documents, which include hospital affiliations and collaborative agreements.

• Validate and maintain provider data in MD Staff and CAQH systems.

• Assist with credential updates and ensure data consistency across various systems.

• Participate in practitioner file audits and projects aimed at data integrity.

• Collaborate with health centers, providers, internal teams, OBS, payers, clients, and other relevant stakeholders.

• Identify enrollment delays and promote best practices.

• Uphold HIPAA confidentiality at all times.

• Execute data entry and computer-based tasks as needed.

• Achieve assigned productivity targets and carry out additional duties as required.

⛳️ Requirements

• Must be at least 18 years old.

• High school diploma or GED is required.

• Must be a U.S. Citizen or a Permanent Resident/Green Card holder; applications from non-citizens or visa holders are not accepted.

• Successful completion of a national criminal background check is mandatory.

• Familiarity with Microsoft Office Suite, especially Word, Excel, and PowerPoint, is advantageous.

• Commitment to participating in all program components for approximately 44 weeks is necessary.

• Must dedicate 40 hours per week, from Monday to Friday, between 8 AM and 5 PM, during standard business hours.

• Proof of full COVID-19 vaccination is required or approval for a medical or religious exemption must be obtained prior to program acceptance.

• For on-site internships/externships, proof of compliance with host-site immunization requirements, which may include influenza, hepatitis B, and MMR vaccinations, is necessary.

• Completion of required tuberculosis testing and drug screening is essential where mandated by the host site.
