This is a fully remote position, open to applicants in New York.
β’ Oversee the complete revenue cycle process for designated medical practices.
β’ Submit, track, and manage insurance claims using Athenahealth.
β’ Address claim issues that influence reimbursement outcomes.
β’ Conduct accounts receivable follow-up and engage in collections efforts.
β’ Examine claim denials, investigate root causes, submit appeals, and rectify reimbursement discrepancies.
β’ Analyze aging reports and prioritize outstanding receivables effectively.
β’ Liaise with insurance carriers regarding claim statuses and payment discrepancies.
β’ Maintain accurate billing records and reports while documenting billing activities.
β’ Provide insights on billing performance, operational challenges, and potential process improvements to leadership.
β’ Assist in workflow distribution and collaborate with offshore billing teams.
β’ Deliver customer service support to physicians and practice stakeholders.
β’ Manage priorities across multiple physician practices and client accounts.
β’ Develop and enhance internal RCM processes, tools, and workflows as the department grows.
β’ Primarily utilize Athenahealth, with potential use of Tebra, Charm Health, AdvancedMD, HubSpot, and Zendesk.
β’ 3β5 years of experience in medical billing and revenue cycle management within a healthcare environment.
β’ Practical experience with Athenahealth for medical billing and claims management.
β’ Familiarity with primary care practices and their billing workflows.
β’ Proven experience in accounts receivable follow-up, collections, payment posting, and insurance verification.
β’ Background in investigating claim denials, submitting appeals, and resolving reimbursement issues with insurance.
β’ Experience in supporting offshore billing teams or coordinating tasks with offshore resources.
β’ Proficient in medical claims, invoicing, insurance processes, and healthcare billing data entry.
β’ Excellent communication skills with physicians, practice staff, and insurance carriers.
β’ Ability to work independently and efficiently in a remote setting.
β’ Experience managing priorities across multiple physician practices and client accounts.
β’ Strong organizational skills with a keen eye for documentation and record-keeping.
β’ Experience in a rapidly growing healthcare organization, adapting to changing processes.
β’ Knowledge of Tebra, Charm Health, and AdvancedMD.
β’ Experience with HubSpot and Zendesk.
β’ Capacity to contribute to operational strategy and scalability within an internal RCM department.
β’ Comfortable collaborating with both onshore and offshore team members in a distributed environment.
β’ Standard working hours are from 9:00 a.m. to 5:00 p.m. EST.
β’ Position is based in New York, NY.
