This is a fully remote position, open to applicants in New York.
• Oversee the complete revenue cycle process for designated medical practices, ensuring precise and timely billing and collections.
• Submit, track, and manage insurance claims using Athenahealth.
• Address claim issues that affect reimbursement.
• Conduct accounts receivable follow-up and collections activities to minimize aging balances and enhance cash flow.
• Investigate claim denials, analyze root causes, submit appeals, and resolve reimbursement inconsistencies.
• Review aging reports and prioritize outstanding receivables based on risk and impact.
• Communicate with insurance carriers to verify claim statuses and clarify payment discrepancies.
• Document billing activities and maintain precise billing records and reports.
• Share insights on billing performance, operational challenges, and opportunities for process improvements with leadership.
• Assist in workflow distribution and collaborate with offshore billing teams.
• Provide customer service support to physicians and practice stakeholders regarding billing inquiries.
• Manage multiple physician practices and prioritize tasks across client accounts.
• Develop and enhance internal RCM processes, tools, and workflows as the department grows.
• 3–5 years of experience in medical billing and revenue cycle management within a healthcare environment.
• Practical experience utilizing Athenahealth for medical billing and claims management.
• Familiarity with primary care practices and understanding of primary care billing workflows.
• Proven experience in accounts receivable follow-up, collections, payment posting, and insurance verification.
• Experience in investigating claim denials, submitting appeals, and resolving insurance reimbursement challenges.
• Background in supporting offshore billing teams or coordinating efforts with offshore resources.
• Proficient in medical claims, invoicing, insurance processes, and data entry related to healthcare billing.
• Experience managing multiple physician practices and prioritizing tasks across various client accounts.
• Experience in a growing, high-growth healthcare organization and adaptability to changing processes.
• Familiarity with Tebra, Charm Health, and AdvancedMD.
• Experience with HubSpot and Zendesk.
• Ability to work independently and efficiently in a remote setting.
• Strong organizational skills with a keen attention to documentation and record-keeping.
• Comfort in collaborating with both onshore and offshore team members in a distributed environment.
• Standard working hours of 9:00 a.m. to 5:00 p.m. EST.
