Medical Assistant – Orthopedic Surgery Clinic

This is a fully remote position, open to applicants in Michigan.

📋 Description

• Perform clinical and administrative duties within the orthopedic surgery clinic.

• Collaborate with healthcare providers to ensure optimal patient care and efficient clinic operations.

• Act as the initial point of contact for patients visiting the clinic.

• Prepare and room patients according to specific clinic protocols and checklists.

• Record patient metrics including weight, height, oxygen saturation, respiration rate, temperature, pulse, and blood pressure.

• Maintain patient care documentation, encompassing medical histories and referral requests.

• Support daily clinic functions, assisting colleagues and providers as needed.

• Be willing to float to any location within the East Region if required.

⛳️ Requirements

• Must be credentialed as a Medical Assistant through an approved Munson Healthcare Credentialing Organization for the credentialed Medical Assistant pathway.

• A high school diploma or GED equivalent is preferred.

• BLS certification is preferred and must be acquired within 90 days of hire and maintained.

• A minimum of one year of relevant experience in a physician's practice or a similar healthcare environment in a provider/patient support role is required for the non-credentialed Medical Assistant pathway.

• Graduation from a Medical Assistant Program approved by Munson Healthcare is an alternative for the non-credentialed Medical Assistant pathway.

• Employees must either be vaccinated or have lab-confirmed immunity for Measles, Mumps, Rubella, and Varicella.

• Employees are required to receive a flu vaccine during the flu season in the year of hire and annually thereafter, or to obtain an approved medical or religious exemption.

• Availability is required from Monday to Friday, 8:00 AM to 4:30 PM for day shifts.

• The position is located in Grayling and may necessitate floating to any site within the East Region.
