This is a fully remote position, open to applicants in Massachusetts.

📋 Description

• Accompany patients to examination areas and document vital signs

• Gather and record patient health information, history, and progress

• Conduct EKGs, perform phlebotomy, and execute point-of-care tests

• Prepare, document, and administer non-intravenous injections within the defined scope of practice

• Assist in physical examinations and various clinical procedures

• Analyze laboratory results and promptly notify clinicians of any abnormalities

• Relay patient observations and changes to licensed healthcare professionals

• Prepare, maintain, clean, sterilize, and repackage medical equipment and instruments

• Help with the moving, lifting, positioning, and transportation of patients

• Adhere to patient arrival and appointment scheduling protocols

• Support admissions, transfers, and discharges

• Manage clinical supplies, inventory, logs, charts, and medical records

• Process prescriptions and refills efficiently

• Perform administrative tasks including typing, filing, scheduling, preparing letters and forms, and managing phone communications

• Verify insurance coverage and eligibility, coordinating prior authorizations and referrals as needed

• Collect patient co-payments and maintain accurate records

⛳️ Requirements

• High School Diploma or equivalent qualification

• Current Basic Life Support (BLS) or Heart Saver (HS) certification from the American Heart Association; if not obtained prior to hire, it must be acquired within three months of employment

• Medical Assistant credential recognized by the Massachusetts Department of Health (ARMA, NHA, etc.)

• An equivalent combination of education and experience may be accepted where certification, licensure, or registration is not mandatory

• Capability to perform clinical, administrative, patient care, phlebotomy, EKG, point-of-care testing, injection, sterilization, medical record management, insurance verification, and scheduling tasks
