Medical Assistant

This is a fully remote position, open to applicants in New Jersey.

📋 Description

• Assist HarmonyCares Primary Care Physicians, Nurse Practitioners, and Clinical Teams in providing primary health care and managing patient care within residential environments.

• Offer compassionate support, attention, and assistance to patients, families, and team members.

• Collaborate with Nurse Practitioners, Physicians, and Care Management Teams to enhance patient care.

• Organize daily travel schedules and transport clinicians to their scheduled appointments.

• Prepare patients for examinations, treatments, and minor procedures.

• Obtain patient consent forms and accurately document patient care in a timely manner.

• Coordinate patient care as instructed by clinicians, adhering to company standards and policies.

• Uphold patient confidentiality while treating patients with courtesy and respect.

• Perform venipuncture, EKGs, and other procedures as requested by clinicians.

• Label, store, and package specimens for laboratory delivery.

• Identify and address quality gaps.

• Document and update patient care plans, Social Determinants of Health assessments, and other evaluations in patient charts or electronic medical records.

• Ensure compliance with CLIA, OSHA, and HIPAA guidelines.

• Prepare and maintain treatment supplies and equipment, including inventory management for supplies, medical bag, and vehicle.

• Ensure the company vehicle remains clean and follows the necessary periodic maintenance schedule.

• Participate in required meetings and in-services.

⛳️ Requirements

• High School diploma or GED equivalent.

• Graduate of an accredited Medical Assistant, Phlebotomy, EMT, or a related medical education/training program, or possess 1 year of experience as a Medical Assistant or Phlebotomist.

• Current CPR certification that meets company guidelines.

• Familiarity with medical terminology.

• Basic computer skills, including experience with EMR, iPad, and GPS.

• Excellent interpersonal communication and customer service abilities.

• Must hold a valid driver’s license and maintain a good driving record.

• Certified Medical Assistant certification preferred.

• At least six months of experience in patient care, preferably in geriatric care.

• Strong phlebotomy skills.

• Willingness and capability to obtain MA certification within 180 days of hire.

• Full range of body motion, including the ability to handle and lift patients.

• Capable of driving up to 150 miles daily in both urban and rural settings.

• Ability to lift and carry items weighing up to 50 lbs.

• Competence in reading and understanding road maps.

• Ability to sit or stand for extended periods.
