Medicaid Proposal Writer

This is a fully remote position, open to applicants in Arizona, +11 more states.

📋 Description

• Create assignments of varying lengths and complexities that support strategic, functional, and operational topics in proposals.

• Work in partnership with Capture and Proposal Managers, Proposal Directors, and Subject Matter Experts to finalize proposal responses.

• Evaluate proposal sections and content to ensure they are aligned and contribute to a cohesive narrative.

• Conduct interviews with subject matter experts to gather information for compliant responses, update resumes, draft past performance sections, and develop proposal content.

• Perform qualitative and quantitative research and analyze data to create client-focused content.

• Collaborate with Graphic Designers to enhance proposal graphics and visual storytelling.

• Engage in proposal meetings, color team reviews, and status updates throughout the proposal process.

• Generate compliant and persuasive proposal responses that meet quality standards and bid guidelines.

• Create innovative strategies that articulate customer needs and winning themes.

• Maintain an expert-level understanding of Aetna Medicaid products and services.

• Assist in managing the Medicaid Content Library content management lifecycle.

• Participate in team meetings and contribute ideas to foster innovation and creativity.

• Cultivate relationships with health plan leaders, proposal colleagues, and SMEs to aid in winning and retaining business.

• Support and promote the development of internal processes and procedures, including scorecards, quality business reports, style guides, and performance metrics.

⛳️ Requirements

• Over five years of experience as a proposal writer or in a comparable role.

• A minimum of three years of experience with Medicaid proposals.

• Outstanding written and verbal communication abilities.

• Proficient knowledge of Microsoft Office applications, including SharePoint, Word, Excel, Teams, and PowerPoint.

• Exceptional organizational, project management, analytical, and innovative problem-solving skills.

• Willingness to travel up to 15% of the time.

• Experience in collaborating across various departments and organizational levels.

• Familiarity with Associated Press and internal style guides.

• Bachelor’s degree in Journalism, Writing, English, Communications, Healthcare Policy, or equivalent professional experience.
