Mechanical Facilities Manager – Refrigeration, HVAC

This is a fully remote position, open to applicants in Alabama, +3 more states.

📋 Description

• Oversee the budgets for refrigeration and HVAC services.

• Formulate and execute strategies to maintain refrigeration systems while minimizing energy consumption within the allocated budget.

• Create and substantiate capital and expense budgets concerning refrigeration-related requirements.

• Monitor and report on capital and expense expenditures and prepare justifications for the outcomes.

• Offer functional guidance to the Construction and Design Departments to enhance system efficiencies.

• Perform on-site visits for new club punch-lists as well as existing club walk-throughs.

• Provide insights aimed at lowering the lifetime costs of assets.

• Select and supervise qualified vendors, ensuring the quality of work and service value, inspecting work, comparing billing data, and offering vendor feedback.

• Reduce food loss by ensuring compliance with recommended storage temperatures.

• Regulate temperature and humidity to create a comfortable environment for both Team Members and Members.

• Propose, test, obtain approval for, and implement capital improvements.

• Manage and guide direct reports to meet objectives and adhere to company policies.

• Design, develop, and execute programs for heating, cooling, and refrigeration systems and equipment.

• Contribute insights for prototype design.

• Establish preventative maintenance programs to prolong the lifespan of systems and facilities.

• Supervise departmental objectives related to new comfort systems, food quality, and refrigeration programs across the organization.

• Develop maintenance procedures for facilities, systems, and equipment.

• Research and apply energy initiatives to lower refrigeration, HVAC, and energy costs.

• Keep abreast of industry trends and governmental regulations while providing feedback to Facilities Services, Construction, and Design Departments.

⛳️ Requirements

• A minimum of 5 years of experience in the supermarket industry.

• At least 5 years of management experience in building refrigeration maintenance.

• Understanding of refrigeration principles.

• Familiarity with the Montreal Protocol and Clean Air Act.

• Knowledge of energy policies and maintenance procedures.

• Insight into equipment design.

• Understanding of refrigeration, electrical, and mechanical design principles.

• Willingness to travel approximately 80% of the time.
