Senior Design Engineer

This is a fully remote position, open to applicants in United Kingdom.

📋 Description

• Architect the design framework, tokens, and components utilized by AI-generated products.

• Develop prompt libraries, patterns, and agent workflows that transform design intent into production-ready user interfaces.

• Rapidly explore concepts and create tangible interfaces as an active designer.

• Prototype in production front-end code to assess whether the system delivers exceptional, deployable work.

• Establish criteria for production readiness of AI-generated user interfaces.

• Set benchmarks for design-to-code fidelity, regression safeguards, and evaluation methodologies.

• Sustain, enhance, and implement the AI-native workflow throughout the design organization.

• Propel the adoption and integration of the workflow across various teams.

• Collaborate with Engineering, Product, and design-system contributors.

• Ensure the system remains linked to shared surfaces, such as Figma, for feedback.

• Prototype and assess adaptive, AI-generated interfaces as a product feature.

• Transform successful strategies into playbooks, prompt libraries, and enablement resources for the broader design organization.

⛳️ Requirements

• Ability to seamlessly transition between design and coding.

• Strong aesthetic sense for layout, typography, interaction, and motion, with a keen eye for detail.

• Proficient in writing TypeScript and React, including HTML, CSS, and animation.

• Capable of rapid prototyping, transitioning between Figma and code.

• Experience in developing or enhancing design systems utilized by others.

• Current practical application of AI design and coding tools in professional settings.

• 7+ years of experience in product design and front-end engineering for complex products.

• Comfortable navigating ambiguity and capable of establishing standards for others to follow.
