Mechanical Designer 2 – Nuclear Power

This is a fully remote position, open to applicants in United States.

📋 Description

• Collaborate under the guidance of the Mechanical Project Lead with engineering and design teams across multiple disciplines.

• Create mechanical physical layout drawings utilizing a 3-D modeling approach.

• Design mechanical systems while investigating, troubleshooting, and resolving mechanical design challenges.

• Employ 3D modeling software tools to produce mechanical design schematics.

• Oversee the coordination of detailed design phases for every aspect of an integrated mechanical design model.

• Direct and support designers and project team members to ensure comprehensive and timely design execution.

• Independently organize and carry out design deliverables, which include general arrangements, piping isometrics, piping composites, pipe support drawings, and equipment location drawings.

• Perform field walkdowns and gather data at client facilities as required.

• Provide mentorship to less experienced drafters and designers.

⛳️ Requirements

• An Associate's Degree in drafting, or a high school diploma along with one or more years of drafting coursework or equivalent technical experience.

• A minimum of five years of detailed physical design experience focusing on the development of mechanical general arrangements, piping systems, and supports.

• Expertise with design software tools for creating 3D plant layout models.

• Familiarity with reviewing mechanical equipment, including outlines and interface points, while coordinating and developing related deliverables.

• Capability to collaborate with engineering and design teams from other disciplines within the power plant design process.

• U.S. work authorization is mandatory; the employer does not provide sponsorship for work authorization.

• Experience with MicroStation is appreciated but not mandatory.
