This is a fully remote position, open to applicants in United States.
• Lead and assist in the planning, scheduling, and execution of the complete life cycle commissioning for essential facilities.
• Perform on-site inspections, validation, functional testing, troubleshooting, and provide direction to vendors and contractors.
• Engage in factory witness testing and startup activities utilizing appropriate technical equipment.
• Manage project timelines, identify potential risks, and aid in the development of mitigation strategies.
• Support team onboarding, mobilization, and provide project updates.
• Oversee pre-construction tasks, which include project initiation, kickoff meetings, RFIs, submittals, and forecasting resources/materials.
• Create and manage project schedules; lead and coordinate project meetings and staffing requirements.
• Execute or supervise QA/QC processes, pre-functional and functional testing, startup, cutover, and project closeout tasks.
• Onboard project teams, prepare progress reports, and compile final commissioning reports for clients.
• Develop commissioning plans, pre-functional checklists, and functional performance test scripts.
• Review design documents, drawings, specifications, shop drawings, submittals, and operational sequences.
• Contribute to design reviews focused on commissioning.
• Facilitate project communication and reporting for both internal and external stakeholders.
• Manage personal hours utilizing company tools.
• Collaborate with engineers, contractors, vendors, owners, designers, subcontractors, trades, and client teams to test, validate, and operate systems.
• A Bachelor's degree in Electrical Engineering, Mechanical Engineering, Construction Management, or a related field, or an equivalent combination of education and experience.
• At least 7 to 10 years of experience in commissioning, construction management, or MEP systems within mission-critical or critical facility environments.
• Previous experience leading full life cycle commissioning projects, including design review, functional testing, and project closeout.
• Proven experience managing project budgets, schedules, and staffing for complex or programmatic projects.
• Experience collaborating directly with owners, designers, contractors, subcontractors, and other trades in a construction or commissioning environment.
• Strong understanding of electrical, mechanical, and controls system principles.
• Advanced proficiency with MS Office Suite: Excel, Word, Outlook, PowerPoint, and Teams.
• Capability to leverage AI and emerging technologies to enhance workflows and optimize operational processes.
• Ability to thrive in remote and field environments with effective communication, organization, self-motivation, proactiveness, and resourcefulness.
• Capacity to adhere to company and site safety protocols.
• Competence in analyzing and preparing technical documents, reports, and correspondence.
• Effective verbal and written communication of both technical and non-technical information.
• Ability to communicate directly with clients and act as the primary point of contact.
• Skilled at working independently with minimal supervision as well as part of a team.
• Ability to perform under pressure and meet tight deadlines.
• Proficiency in planning and delegating tasks to others.
• Ability to obtain NFPA 70E / OSHA 10 or OSHA 30 certifications as needed.
• Must possess a valid driver’s license and be capable of renting vehicles.
• Must reside near a major airport.
• Willingness to travel up to 75% domestically, covering any or all 50 U.S. states.
• Must have a valid REAL ID or an acceptable alternative, such as a passport, for domestic air travel after May 7, 2025.
• Must meet physical demands, including frequent movement through critical facilities, navigating stairs, ladders, tight/confined spaces, and occasionally handling equipment weighing up to 50 pounds.
• Certified Commissioning Professional (CCP), Commissioning Process Management Professional (CPMP), or equivalent industry certification is preferred.
• Previous supervisory or project team leadership experience is preferred.
