MCE Field Technician 2

This is a fully remote position, open to applicants in United States.

📋 Description

• Oversee the maintenance, replacement of major components, and repair of wind turbine generators across the United States

• Diagnose complex mechanical, hydraulic, and electrical issues on variable-pitch, variable-speed turbines

• Support site preparation efforts, including the coordination of labor and materials, with minimal oversight

• Record all tasks conducted utilizing computer-based service reporting protocols

• Convey site status updates to engineers, customers, and management

• Travel both domestically and internationally as needed

• Operate heavy machinery and signal and rig loads weighing up to 100 tons

• Work and climb at heights of at least 300 feet

• Operate in various weather conditions and within industrial, manufacturing, and power sector environments

• Participate in rotating shifts, available 24/7

⛳️ Requirements

• High School Diploma / GED

• A minimum of 4 years of experience as a Wind Turbine Technician OR at least 6 years of related experience in electrical, mechanical, hydraulics, renewable energy, or a comparable field

• Willingness and ability to travel domestically and internationally up to 90% of the time, as needed

• Capability and readiness to operate heavy machinery

• Capability and readiness to signal and rig loads up to 100 tons

• Capability and readiness to work and climb heights of at least 300 feet

• Ability to meet specific OSHA weight restrictions of 250 to 300 lbs maximum

• Valid driver's license is required and must be maintained

• Ability to handle repetitive lifting of 50 lbs

• Must be able and willing to work in all weather conditions

• Must be able and willing to work in industrial, manufacturing, and power industry settings

• Must be available for rotating shift schedules, 24/7

• Proficient in reading and interpreting electrical schematic diagrams

• Experience with wind turbines is preferred

• Must take initiative and work independently without direct supervision

• Ability to read, interpret, and adhere to technical manuals, procedures, and regulations

• Capable of writing reports and performing arithmetic across all units of measure

• Experience in electrical, mechanical, and/or hydraulic fields

• Proficient in using hydraulic power tools

• Familiarity with heavy equipment for facility maintenance, including knowledge of crane and rigging regulations

• Strong computer skills in Excel, Word, and web-based tools

• Strong focus on customer service

• Excellent organizational abilities

• Strong verbal and written communication skills

• Effective interpersonal and leadership qualities

• Must be legally authorized to work in the United States

• Successful completion of a drug screening, if applicable
