Maximo Infrastructure Architect – Engineer

This is a fully remote position, open to applicants in Singapore, +4 more countries.

📋 Description

• Oversee comprehensive MAS 9 implementations, managing infrastructure discovery, architecture design, sizing, prerequisite validation, installation, configuration, testing, production go-live, and operational handover.

• Create and establish secure, resilient MAS 9 environments on Red Hat OpenShift across platforms including IBM Cloud, Microsoft Azure, AWS, private cloud, and on-premises setups.

• Install and configure core MAS, Maximo Manage, relevant applications, industry solutions, and add-ons.

• Organize environment readiness, migration rehearsals, cutover, rollback, and post-go-live support for legacy Maximo or earlier MAS versions.

• Design and validate solutions for high availability, backup, restoration, and disaster recovery.

• Utilize Prometheus and Grafana for monitoring purposes, performance baselines, and capacity planning.

• Employ IBM MAS CLI, Ansible, Terraform, and OpenShift Pipelines/Tekton to develop repeatable builds and controlled deployment workflows.

• Facilitate technical workshops with global clients, clarify design choices, manage infrastructure dependencies, and produce architecture documents and runbooks.

• Collaborate with AI and data specialists on secure hosting, connectivity, and integration among Maximo environments, enterprise data, and AI applications.

• Resolve complex issues, mentor engineers, and disseminate practical knowledge across international projects.

⛳️ Requirements

• Proven experience in full end-to-end MAS 9 installations, personally leading or delivering complete production implementations from infrastructure preparation to go-live and handover.

• Demonstrable experience with Maximo/MAS across various industry verticals.

• Strong practical knowledge of Red Hat OpenShift, including oc CLI, operators, containers, persistent storage, networking, certificates, security, and platform troubleshooting.

• Proficient Linux skills and experience with DNS, load balancing, TLS, identity integration, and access control.

• Experience in designing and delivering Maximo/MAS infrastructure on IBM Cloud, Microsoft Azure, and Amazon Web Services (AWS).

• Familiarity with networking, storage, security, availability, and hybrid connectivity.

• Hands-on experience with IBM Db2, Oracle Database, and Microsoft SQL Server for Maximo Manage.

• Experience in database connectivity, SQL troubleshooting, and migrations.

• Background in collaborating with database teams on performance, backup, and recovery.

• Experience in deploying, configuring, securing, and monitoring Apache Kafka for Maximo integrations and event streaming.

• Knowledge of release-specific compatibility checks, upgrades, performance tuning, recovery testing, and technical documentation.

• Ability to lead technical discussions, articulate trade-offs, and collaborate with security, cloud, database, and Maximo application teams.

• Capacity to manage priorities across client engagements while working within agreed time-zone overlaps for international delivery.

• Strong skills in MAS automation and OpenShift.

• Experience with IBM MAS CLI and Ansible, particularly the ibm.mas_devops collection.

• Familiarity with running and troubleshooting OpenShift Pipelines/Tekton.

• Proficient in Terraform, YAML, and Bash or Python for provisioning, configuration, and repeatable operational tasks.

• Knowledge of Git and at least one of Jenkins, GitHub Actions, GitLab CI/CD, or Azure DevOps.

• Experience with OpenShift oc, Podman or Docker, and image registries such as Red Hat Quay.

• Experience with Argo CD/OpenShift GitOps is a plus.

• Familiarity with Helm and Kustomize is advantageous.

• Experience using Prometheus and Grafana for infrastructure and application metrics, dashboards, and operational alerts.

• Deployment experience with Maximo industry solutions, Mobile or other MAS applications is valued.

• Experience in AI infrastructure, private model hosting, data platforms, or secure enterprise integrations is valued.

• Relevant certifications in IBM Maximo, Red Hat OpenShift, or cloud technologies are advantageous.

• Experience in consulting, managed services, or nearshore delivery is valued.
