Math Instructor – Full-Time

This is a fully remote position, open to applicants in South Carolina.

📋 Description

• Teach small groups of students fundamental math skills to achieve long-term mastery and excel in ACT/SAT examinations.

• Track student progress utilizing Vanguard’s multi-phase curriculum.

• Involve students in personalized growth and improvement initiatives.

• Respond to student inquiries promptly.

• Maintain and revise student lesson schedules on the online platform.

• Ensure students are accountable for their assignments.

• Design and creatively implement adaptive lesson plans and curriculum.

• Mentor middle and high school students during their college preparation journey.

• Collaborate with instructors, counselors, and specialists to promote student success.

⛳️ Requirements

• A Bachelor’s degree or higher in mathematics, education, or a related STEM field from accredited US institutions (Master’s degree or above preferred; candidates nearing graduation are welcome).

• A minimum of 1 year of teaching experience in math or experience in a community college or college-level tutoring center.

• An academic record showing high achievement (e.g., GPA of 3.5 or higher).

• Proficiency in MS Excel, MS Word, MS PowerPoint, and Google Workspace.

• Access to a stable internet connection and a dedicated, quiet workspace.

• A solid understanding of effective classroom pedagogy.

• Capability to develop customized, engaging lesson plans using practical, real-world examples.

• Strong communication skills with the ability to simplify complex math concepts.

• Ability to work both independently and collaboratively in a team setting.

• Thorough understanding of SAT and ACT Math, particularly in Pre-Algebra, Algebra I & II, Geometry, Trigonometry, and Statistics.
