Math Instructor, FT

This is a fully remote position, open to applicants in Texas.

📋 Description

• Teach small core groups of students foundational math skills to achieve long-term mastery and exceptional ACT/SAT scores.

• Track student progress utilizing Vanguard’s multi-phase curriculum.

• Involve students in personalized growth and improvement opportunities.

• Respond to students promptly.

• Manage and update student lesson schedules on Vanguard’s online platform.

• Ensure students are accountable for their assignments.

• Design and innovatively implement evolving lesson plans and curriculum.

• Guide middle and high school students through the college preparation process.

⛳️ Requirements

• A Bachelor’s degree or higher in mathematics, education, or a related STEM field from US institutions (Master’s degree or higher preferred; candidates nearing graduation are also welcome).

• Over 1 year of teaching experience in mathematics and/or experience in a community college or college-level tutoring center.

• Academic record showcasing high achievement (e.g., 3.5+ GPA).

• Proficiency in MS Excel, MS Word, MS PowerPoint, and Google Workspace.

• A reliable internet connection and a dedicated, quiet workspace.

• Strong understanding of classroom pedagogy.

• Capability to develop customized, engaging lesson plans using practical, real-world examples.

• An engaging communication style that makes complex math accessible.

• Ability to work both independently and collaboratively within a team.

• Mastery of SAT and ACT Math, including Pre-Algebra, Algebra I & II, Geometry, Trigonometry, and Statistics.
