Math Instructor, FT

This is a fully remote position, open to applicants in Ohio.

📋 Description

• Teach small core groups of students essential math skills to achieve long-term mastery and excel in ACT/SAT assessments.

• Track student progress utilizing Vanguard’s comprehensive multi-phase curriculum.

• Encourage students to engage in personalized growth and improvement opportunities.

• Respond to students promptly.

• Maintain and update student lesson schedules on the online platform.

• Ensure students are accountable for their assignments.

• Create and innovatively implement dynamic lesson plans and curriculum.

• Mentor middle and high school students as they prepare for college.

• Collaborate with instructors, counselors, and specialists to promote student success.

⛳️ Requirements

• Bachelor’s degree or higher in mathematics, education, or a related STEM field from accredited US institutions.

• Master’s degree or higher is preferred.

• Candidates nearing graduation are encouraged to apply.

• At least 1 year of teaching experience in math or experience in a community college or college-level tutoring center.

• Academic record showcasing high achievement, such as a GPA of 3.5 or higher.

• Proficiency in MS Excel, MS Word, MS PowerPoint, and G-Suites.

• Access to a reliable internet connection.

• A dedicated and quiet workspace.

• Strong understanding of classroom pedagogy.

• Capability to design customized, engaging lesson plans utilizing practical, real-world examples.

• Effective communication skills with the ability to simplify complex math concepts.

• Ability to work independently as well as collaboratively within a team environment.

• Proficiency in SAT and ACT Math, encompassing Pre-Algebra, Algebra I & II, Geometry, Trigonometry, and Statistics.
