Math Instructor – FT

This is a fully remote position, open to applicants in North Carolina.

📋 Description

• Teach small groups of students essential math skills to foster long-lasting mastery and achieve top ACT/SAT scores.

• Track student progress utilizing Vanguard’s multi-phase curriculum.

• Provide students with personalized growth and improvement opportunities.

• Respond to student inquiries in a prompt manner.

• Maintain and update student lesson schedules on the online platform.

• Hold students accountable for completing assignments.

• Design and creatively implement evolving lesson plans and curriculum.

• Mentor middle and high school students as they prepare for college.

⛳️ Requirements

• Bachelor’s degree or higher in mathematics, education, or a related STEM field from US institutions (Master’s degree or higher preferred; candidates nearing graduation are welcome to apply).

• A minimum of 1 year of teaching experience in math and/or experience in a community college or college-level tutoring center.

• An academic record that reflects high achievement (e.g., 3.5+ GPA).

• Proficiency in MS Excel, MS Word, MS PowerPoint, and Google Suite.

• A reliable internet connection and a dedicated, quiet workspace.

• Strong understanding of classroom pedagogy.

• Ability to develop customized, engaging lesson plans using practical, real-world examples.

• Excellent communication skills with the capability to make complex math concepts accessible.

• Ability to work both independently and collaboratively in a team environment.

• Mastery of SAT and ACT Math, covering Pre-Algebra, Algebra I & II, Geometry, Trigonometry, and Statistics.
