Math Instructor, FT

This is a fully remote position, open to applicants in Kansas.

📋 Description

• Teach small “core” groups of students essential math skills to foster long-term mastery and achieve top ACT/SAT scores.

• Track student progress utilizing Vanguard’s multi-phase curriculum.

• Involve students in personalized growth and improvement opportunities.

• Respond to students promptly.

• Keep student lesson schedules updated on Vanguard’s online platform.

• Hold students accountable for their assignments.

• Design and dynamically implement innovative lesson plans and curriculum.

• Guide middle and high school students through the college preparation process.

⛳️ Requirements

• A bachelor’s degree or higher in mathematics, education, or a related STEM field from accredited US institutions.

• A master’s degree or higher is preferred.

• Candidates who are nearing graduation are welcome to apply.

• At least 1 year of teaching experience in math or experience in a community college or college-level tutoring center.

• A strong academic record indicating high achievement (e.g., 3.5+ GPA).

• Proficiency in MS Excel, MS Word, MS PowerPoint, and G-Suites.

• A reliable internet connection.

• Access to a dedicated and quiet workspace.

• A solid understanding of classroom pedagogy.

• Capability to create engaging, customized lesson plans using practical, real-world examples.

• A passion for helping students recognize, strive for, and achieve their full potential.

• Ability to make complex math concepts accessible.

• Strong ability to work both independently and as part of a team.

• Mastery of SAT and ACT Math, covering Pre-Algebra, Algebra I & II, Geometry, Trigonometry, and Statistics.
