Math Instructor

This is a fully remote position, open to applicants in Texas.

📋 Description

• Teach small groups of students essential math skills to achieve lasting mastery and excel in ACT/SAT tests.

• Track student progress utilizing Vanguard’s comprehensive multi-phase curriculum.

• Provide students with personalized growth and improvement opportunities.

• Respond to student inquiries promptly.

• Update and manage student lesson schedules on the online platform.

• Hold students accountable for their assignments.

• Design and creatively implement dynamic lesson plans and curriculum.

• Guide middle and high school students through the college preparation process.

⛳️ Requirements

• A Bachelor’s degree or higher in mathematics, education, or a related STEM field from accredited US institutions (Master’s degree or higher is preferred; candidates nearing graduation are also considered).

• At least 1 year of teaching experience in mathematics and/or experience in a community college or college-level tutoring center.

• An academic background reflecting high achievement (e.g., GPA of 3.5 or above).

• Proficiency in MS Excel, MS Word, MS PowerPoint, and G-Suite applications.

• A reliable internet connection and a dedicated, quiet workspace.

• A strong understanding of classroom pedagogy.

• Ability to develop customized, engaging lesson plans that incorporate practical, real-world examples.

• Excellent communication skills to make complex mathematical concepts accessible.

• Capability to work independently as well as collaboratively within a team.

• Expertise in SAT and ACT Math, covering Pre-Algebra, Algebra I & II, Geometry, Trigonometry, and Statistics.
