Math Instructor

This is a fully remote position, open to applicants in Kansas.

📋 Description

• Teach small core groups of students foundational math skills.

• Foster long-term mastery to achieve top ACT/SAT scores.

• Track student progress utilizing Vanguard’s multi-phase curriculum.

• Provide students with individualized growth and improvement opportunities.

• Respond to students promptly.

• Maintain and update student lesson schedules on the online platform.

• Hold students accountable for their assignments.

• Design and implement innovative lesson plans and curriculum.

• Guide middle and high school students through the college preparation process.

• Work collaboratively with instructors, counselors, and specialists to promote student success.

⛳️ Requirements

• Bachelor’s degree or higher in mathematics, education, or a related STEM field from accredited US institutions.

• Master’s degree or higher is preferred.

• Open to candidates who are nearing graduation.

• Minimum of 1 year of teaching experience in math and/or experience at a community college or a college-level tutoring center.

• Academic record showcasing high achievement, e.g., GPA of 3.5 or higher.

• Proficiency in MS Excel, MS Word, MS PowerPoint, and Google Suite.

• Reliable internet connection is essential.

• Must have a dedicated and quiet workspace.

• Strong understanding of classroom pedagogy.

• Capability to create customized, engaging lesson plans using practical, real-world examples.

• Passion for helping students reach their maximum potential.

• Ability to simplify complex math concepts.

• Ability to work autonomously as well as part of a team.

• Proficient in SAT and ACT Math, including Pre-Algebra, Algebra I & II, Geometry, Trigonometry, and Statistics.
