Math Instructor

This is a fully remote position, open to applicants in Alabama.

📋 Description

• Teach small groups of students foundational math skills to achieve lasting mastery and excel in ACT/SAT assessments

• Track student development utilizing Vanguard’s multi-phase curriculum

• Provide students with personalized growth and enhancement opportunities

• Respond to students promptly

• Keep student lesson schedules current on Vanguard’s online platform

• Ensure students are accountable for their assignments

• Design and innovatively implement dynamic lesson plans and curricula

• Guide middle and high school students through the college preparation process

⛳️ Requirements

• Bachelor’s degree or higher in mathematics, education, or a related STEM field from US institutions (Master’s degree or higher preferred; candidates nearing graduation are welcome to apply)

• Over 1 year of teaching experience in mathematics and/or experience in a community college or college-level tutoring center

• Academic record showcasing high achievement (e.g., GPA of 3.5 or higher)

• Proficient in MS Excel, MS Word, MS PowerPoint, and G-Suites

• Stable internet connection

• A dedicated, quiet workspace

• Strong understanding of classroom pedagogy

• Capability to develop customized, engaging lesson plans utilizing practical, real-world scenarios

• Strong communication skills with the ability to make complex mathematical concepts accessible

• Ability to work both independently and collaboratively within a team

• Expertise in SAT and ACT Math, including Pre-Algebra, Algebra I & II, Geometry, Trigonometry, and Statistics
