Math Instructor

This is a fully remote position, open to applicants in Alabama.

📋 Description

• Teach small “core” groups of students foundational math skills to ensure long-term mastery and achieve top ACT/SAT scores.

• Track student progress utilizing Vanguard’s multi-phase curriculum.

• Engage students in personalized growth and improvement opportunities.

• Respond to students promptly.

• Update and maintain student lesson schedules on Vanguard’s online platform.

• Hold students accountable for their assignments.

• Design and creatively implement evolving lesson plans and curriculum.

• Mentor middle and high school students as they prepare for college.

• Collaborate effectively within a team setting.

⛳️ Requirements

• A Bachelor’s degree or higher in mathematics, education, or a related STEM field from US institutions (Master’s degree or higher preferred; candidates nearing graduation are welcome).

• Teaching experience in mathematics and/or experience in a community college or college-level tutoring center (minimum of 1 year).

• Academic record showcasing high achievement (e.g., 3.5+ GPA).

• Proficiency in MS Excel, MS Word, MS PowerPoint, and G-Suites.

• A reliable internet connection.

• A dedicated, quiet workspace.

• Strong understanding of classroom pedagogy.

• Ability to develop customized, engaging lesson plans using practical, real-world examples.

• A passion for helping students recognize, strive for, and achieve their full potential.

• Capability to make complex math concepts accessible.

• Ability to work both independently and collaboratively in a team environment.

• Expertise in SAT and ACT Math, particularly in Pre-Algebra, Algebra I & II, Geometry, Trigonometry, and Statistics.
