This is a fully remote position, open to applicants in Connecticut, +2 more states.
β’ Enhance market presence and brand loyalty for Generac's residential ecosystem solutions within the designated territory.
β’ Identify new business prospects and transform solar and generator installers into Generac clients.
β’ Promote the resale of Generac PWRmicro solar, PWRcell 2 energy storage systems, home standby generators, and ecobee smart thermostat products.
β’ Formulate and implement strategic regional customer development plans.
β’ Encourage product adoption through Generac's established distribution network.
β’ Locate, engage, and convert solar, storage, and generator installation firms.
β’ Design and execute sales strategies to optimize market share and profit margins.
β’ Broaden the customer base by discovering new partners and creating customer opportunities.
β’ Develop and maintain a pipeline of key account opportunities, focusing on 80% new account development and 20% account management.
β’ Establish and nurture relationships with key accounts and internal support teams.
β’ Keep precise sales records, CRM entries, and activity logs for forecasting and performance assessment.
β’ Collaborate with sales and business leadership on strategic plans that align with key account growth initiatives.
β’ Provide market insights and competitive intelligence to sales and business leadership.
β’ Consistently follow up on opportunities to ensure timely closures.
β’ Coordinate with Generac sales team members regarding account acquisition and support.
β’ Bachelor's Degree in Business, Marketing, or Engineering, or equivalent experience.
β’ 4 years of experience in the solar industry.
β’ Willingness to travel 30-60% of the time.
β’ Background in residential energy storage.
β’ Experience in business-to-business sales.
β’ Proven track record of selling to C-suite executives and key decision-makers at large corporations.
β’ Familiarity with the two-step distribution model.
β’ Experience navigating RFP purchasing processes, from bid to award to successful closure.
β’ Ability to identify key market indicators and significant prospects using third-party tools such as OHM Analytics and Wood Mackenzie.
β’ Skills in identifying, engaging, and converting solar, storage, and generator installation companies.
β’ Experience in sales strategy, pipeline development, CRM, forecasting, and competitive intelligence.
