Market Analyst

This is a fully remote position, open to applicants in Australia.

📋 Description

• Create and publish weekly articles that address market developments, earnings reports, and companies of interest.

• Collect global information on noteworthy topics and generate original, often unconventional investment ideas.

• Produce one long-form YouTube video each week, totaling around four videos per month, centered on a stock, sector, or investment theme.

• Conduct interviews with executives from listed companies for video content.

• Transform analysis-based scripts into engaging videos delivered in a natural, conversational manner.

• Maintain energy, clarity, and personality throughout videos lasting 10–15 minutes or longer.

• Make complex investment information accessible and conversational.

• Work from scripts created by yourself or the editorial team.

• Foster audience trust and engagement through YouTube, articles, and community interactions.

• Cultivate a personal brand as a reliable investment voice while supporting Simply Wall St’s mission.

• Film on a consistent weekly schedule.

• Collaborate with editorial and video production teams and promptly incorporate feedback.

• Contribute ideas as the channel and publication evolve.

⛳️ Requirements

• 3 to 5+ years of experience writing about markets, investing, or finance, preferably for a consumer or investor audience.

• Prior on-camera experience in any industry.

• Strong global market knowledge, including awareness of the global news cycle, earnings seasons, and stock-moving factors.

• Experience as a stock investor.

• Proficient in fundamental analysis, portfolio management, and long-term investing strategies.

• Comfortable discussing stocks and markets on camera in an unscripted manner.

• Familiarity with long-form YouTube formats, including pacing, structure, and maintaining viewer attention for 10–15 minutes or more.

• Self-editing skills and reliability; ability to meet deadlines.

• Open to using AI tools for research and production purposes.

• Capability to record a video explaining 3 stocks you have invested in and the reasons behind your choices.

• Access to camera, audio, and lighting equipment for video recording.

• A resume is required.

• Must provide current location (country/city) and salary expectations in AUD equivalent.
